That's all I just felt like this news needed to be announced.
Outstanding horror from Guillermo del toro, very unsettling, very tear jeking at times aswell.
Andy Muschietti, not Del Toro. Same guy who directed the newer IT movies.
I am a low key fan of this one. I didn't find it all that scary and the CGI is a little ropey, but it's a superb gothic ghost story and I can't lie, it broke my heart ahaha
Do need a rewatch of this, haven't seen it since the original release.
Regrettably I think it suffers a bit from less-than-brilliant VFX work towards the end but on the whole it works as a scary modern fairy tale, and it does have some genuinely spooky moments. Might even feature my fave Jessica Chastain performance (she's great) and Nicolai Coster-Waldau is very good as well. Overall I really liked this story and I think I'll be revisiting it a time or two in future.
Awful film, terrible CGI and not scary or memorable.
I'm sorry, but I laughed so hard through this movie. It's absolutely terrible. It's so bad. The creature design is bad, the acting was bad and there are a lot of odd edits that don't make sense.
Thought it was average but it is the foundation for Scary Movie 5, so watch Mama for homework then see Scary Movie 5 for peak cinema.
I really enjoyed this movie, but del Toro was only an executive producer on this one. This one was written and directed by Andy Muschietti, who did both of the It movies.
