It can get very uncomfortable - mild swelling can be just annoying, but if you suddenly swell up more than usual it feels very tight. This just looks like the more annoying type of swelling

I don’t have anything against him and I know he’s the current Reddit obsession but I wish they would go back to casting relative unknowns not tied to other IP. I think the decision to pivot away from unknowns in favor of Hollywood A-listers has really hurt the immersion of these films.
I don’t doubt that he’ll do a fine job in the movie but I see Pedro Pascal, not Reed Richards, in all of this stuff.
Unfortunately not gonna happen. Famous people bring the most return on investment. It shouldn't be like this but that's the reality.
I don't know how much I agree with this.
I mean box office numbers are largely down and that decline started around the same time celebrities started taking these roles. I'm not suggesting that's the only reason box office numbers are down but I do think it's one of them. The MCU just doesn't have the same feel when actors like RDJ, Hemsworth, Evans, etc. completely embodied their characters. Now it feels like the franchise with a lot of celebrity cameos.
In fact, I'd argue that the movie star era has largely disappeared outside of Tom Cruise and maybe and Leonardo DiCaprio. Actors no longer put butts in seats, IP does, and casting an A-list actor to play that IP only obscures it.
Sounds reasonable. But I also believe box office numbers are down because revenue is distributed into other income streams. Studios make more money now than before the streaming era, even if their box office numbers look weak.
Franchise movies on average make more money now than before the streaming era, mid budget movies less money if both are accounted for post theatrical revenue. But studios are exploring hybrid models and love mid budget movies because streaming comes with lower risk, mid budget hybrid releases are considered as reliable portfolio fillers now and their revenue is hidden revenue by increasin streaming platform value. The movie landscape has changed, so box office is an unreliable narrator.
Best way to visualize the power of streaming: netflix is willing to pay 450M for Knives Out 2 and 3 because the first movie brought them so much value.
Movie stars don't really exist anymore, that's true. But that doesn't mean the math doesn't check out.
Let's say for Jurassic World Rebirth Scarlet Johannson were to be replaced by a no name actress who gets a salary of 2 million. If Johannson gets a salary of 15 million, then her presence just needs to increase overall profits by at least 13 million. She doesn't need the draw power of a movie star to offset such marginal cost. If her lack of presence means Rebirth makes 500 M net profit as opposed to 550 M then that's 50M opportunity cost for the studio, meaning not casting Johannson is a nonsensical financial decision.

There's just something about the casting in this film where, while I'm sure they're all great actors, nobody "looks the part" to me in the same way a lot of the other actors do throughout the MCU

Could be that she bought the sandals before pregnancy and they fit a bit tight now due to fluid retention in the limbs. Her ankles look swollen which does often happen during the 2nd or 3rd trimester supporting my theory.
Pressure on edemas often looks worse than it feels. Many pregnant women even wear compression sleeves for their legs to alleviate pressure and improve circulation.
So the shoes might fit well and don't cut as much into her muscles as the pic suggests. Or maybe they do, what do I know.

Yes, that totally happens! Swelling gets worse as the day goes on due to gravity pulling fluids to the legs and the uterus pressuring veins in the lower body slowing blood returning from the legs. Therefore fluid builds up which can be amplified by summer heat, so legs look puffy.

Makes sense. But could also be that the shoes fit in the morning or when she tried them on. But legs and feet usually become more puffy throughout the day during pregnancy.
