I really feel like we are back on track now.
The first season was a bit rocky due to the creative overhaul and everything that was reshot and rewritten.
Now it feels like we are on track and that we will be getting solidly written episodes with great cinematography and character work with these characters we love and enjoy. They know what the fans want and they know we won’t be happy if we are given a product that doesn’t align with what we were given by Netflix/Marvel Television/ABC studios. We wanted Jessica Jones back and we got her back!
I certainly think this next season will stand as a better test for the show than the first. If this season is still rocky, then they just don’t have it with these characters. But I’m hopeful they’ll right the ship.
Agreed. Plus the three best (and, iirc, longest) episodes of S1 were the ones directed by Benson and Moorhead post-overhaul, so I've got pretty high hopes for S2 knowing they're working on the entire thing from the start.
agree. Feels like they finally found their footing again. Just glad to have her back the way we remember.
Who doesn't love being with Cox?
She had the chance to be hilarious and just say "I love Cox".
Gimme a JJ revival show (& possibly use the multiverse to bring back David Tennant as Kilgrave.).
Just have him regenerate from another Kilgrave
He could just continue to appear in flashbacks or dreams.
After Born Again I just shake my head at anyone asking for these shows again. SaveDD and so many didn’t watch and when you bring it up they say it needs to be good like the show was terrible lol.
God forbid I hope they bring back a character I like in a continuation of her show.
Please reunite the defenders
Awesome to see her back. Perfect in the role.
“Nice ears.”
“They're horns.”
Can’t say I was a big fan of Born Again. I hope season 2 has a drastically different style or that Jones gets her own show again.
Did you like the last two episodes? If so, chances are you'll like Season 2. You can really feel the patchwork they had to stitch together in eps 2-7, but I thought 8 & 9 landed much better.
Either way, Season 2 is going to be at least one coherent vision.
Different strokes for different folks xD
I preferred the beginning for sure. My favourite part was the court case with the other vigilante. White Tiger iirc. I liked the serial killer too.. but he got so little focus. The graffiti one who painted with his victims blood iirc.
I also felt like the ending was pretty lame. But maybe I just didn’t get it. I didn’t understand (or totally forgot) why Matt would take a bullet for Kingpin. Like I thought he hated him? Lol. I also didn’t understand (or forgot) why Bullseye didn’t just.. shoot again? Like he only brought one bullet? Idk. Too much suspension of disbelief for that scene at least. Besides that I also feel like not much happened in the finale. Kingpin caved a guys head in.. cool. Like it was just for shock value or whatever. And I’m not against gore or anything, I do like gore actually, but I just felt like it only happened because it was the finale and SOMETHING had to happen haha.
A big disappointment tbh because I loved the original Daredevil.

Remember how Fisk wanted to outlaw masked vigilantes? If a masked vigilante (Bullseye) had assassinated the mayor of New York (Fisk,) everything would have gotten real bad for the rest of the vigilantes. So Matt took a bullet for Fisk to prevent Kingpin from becoming a martyr.
Thank you.
Not a stretch either and it kind of amazes me how my brain didn’t connect that xD maybe I need another watch.

Hey, friend.
I just wanted to say I really appreciate the way you share your thoughts. You’re clearly thoughtful and honest in how you process stuff, and it’s refreshing.
Don’t undersell yourself so much; your insights are valid, even if they don’t come with perfect recall or airtight logic.
When you talk about your brain like it’s working against you, that’s the quickest way to convince it to stop showing up for you. You’re clearly smart; don’t undercut it just to stay small.
Half the fun of this kind of discussion is the messy back-and-forth. Hope you keep chiming in
You sound like an AI
Maybe I am? 👀
I don't think they did the best job of showing it, so it's not so much you as it is them. Hopefully they make it more clear in season two.
Something else to point out is the bit from Matt and Poindexter's talk in prison, with Poindexter saying that good men defend their worst enemies.
Lol oh man, I’m sorry you wound up preferring the original vision of the show. That must be frustrating to have liked what the original vision seemed to be and then have it be changed 😭🤣
I’m gonna go back and rewatch some of it to try to answer some of the questions, but it’s totally valid not to like something (regardless of what Redditors say.)
Either way, I hope you like season 2 more!! Thanks for giving such a thorough answer!
If you don't understand why Matt would take a bullet for Kingpin I don't think you understand his character very well.
Option A) Explain it. Option B) Be a snarky asshole.
Be better <3
Bullseye does set it up on the episode in where says Matt is the type of man who would take a bullet for even his worst enemy.
So its in Matt nature to not let others die even if they may deserve it (He'll only go in kill mode if you set him off in that moment like how he tried to kill Nobu when Elektra died or Dex when he killed Foggy), Heck Matt hates that Frank kills a bunch of people who don't deserve to be alive, even in the original series Matt has had a bloodlust to see Fisk buried deep underground, but he always pivots and lets him live
Now, let's hope she's able to interact with Tom Holland's Spidey at one point. If ever.
If Matt was able to make a cameo in No Way Home, one can only hope Jessica also pops in for the next Spider-Man movie.
Did the interviewer talk about those two fight scenes with Quake (Daisy Johnson)?
#hoax
I love being with Charlie Cox too!
I just gotta ask. Did anyone else find this revival really lame and disappointing? I was like Iron fist level of quality for me.
It can't be that bad...
To me it was. At least iron fist didn't really have anything to live up to.
Theres a few episodes out of the season that felt back on track, but yeah it was a mess. Nobody performing did anything wrong or less than excellent, but its so hard to tell a good story when the story itself is upside down and inside out from reshoots and rewrites
And the vibe and look of the show was so off. Some of it looked straight up like a CW show. Muse was so poorly done too. Was really disappointed
Man this sub constantly breaks my heart. Guess I need to unsub. So many things not marked as spoilers.
FYI: Marvel announced Ritter a month or two ago at a press event. She stood on a stage with Cox and everything. There is no reasonable expectation of spoiler protection for casting news that's been officially announced. This sub, and the internet in general, has never and will never work like that.
Ahh I see. Yeah I have this sub muted a ton and missed it.
Ritter:
This makes me happy. I tried to do her Orphan Black spinoff show and couldn’t get into the first episode, so I’m happy she’s feeling fulfilled with other projects.
