In the medication distribution system, the people are required to perform two separate yet equally important tasks: pushing down, to align the cap; and turning, to open or close the cap. These are their stories.

Apparently they have been using it for the past 7 years:
There’s something so funny about that post being six years older than this one yet someone in the comments was already complaining about it being an “overused repost” more than half a decade ago. Reddit never changes.
Lol oh no two different people had the same thought within the span of six years!! Reddit is literally unusable!!!
Its been WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY longer than 7 years LOL.
They've been using this font since the 1980's kid.
Definitely. This gave me flashbacks to my childhood. All of my father’s medications had this lid around the turn of the millennium.
Eminem’s Relapse CD art used this font in 2009.
The font is called Friz Quadrata and apparently is used in all sorts of manufacturing and products.
It is the typeface for the Quebec wordmark and on the identifying signage of 1 Police Plaza, the headquarters of the New York City Police Department.
Well that explains why Law & Order used it!
Of course, because it takes place in Quebec!
I hope everyone else heard this in their head...
"From Executive Producer Dick Wolf"
And this medication is used to treat Wolf Dick.

"I can both see and hear you!"
thanks to Community I didn’t even think “dun dun” like the top comment; I thought “dun dun-dun dun” like the start of that episode’s L&Oified theme song.
Tbf I’ve seen Basic Lupine Urology (oh my god I just fully got the title) more times than any Law and Order
You can't say Dick Wolf on TV!
Prescribed by
DICK WOLF
Some of these pills are especially heinous.
Friz Quadrata is a lot older than Law & Order
It gets opened and closed in the same direction too.
Nope. Optical confusion.
Wash the pills down with some Ice T.
In the American Healthcare system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups. The physicians who write the prescriptions, and the pharmacists who fill them. These are there stories... DUN DUN!!
It's Friz Quadrata!
Your wife’s “medicine” bottle looks a lot like the weed jar I bought in a tobacco shop a few years ago. By that I mean that’s literally it.
See you're backwards. This font has been on medicine bottle caps WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY longer than Law & Order was ever a thing.
Would be cool to replace open/close with Doink!/Doink!

is that a leftie tightie leftie loosie bottle?
Circles? How do they work?
Special Vitamins Unit
They've been using that font on the tops of medicine bottles since at least the late 90s. I remember seeing it every time my mom would have me fetch her medicine.
In the medical industry, impossible to open bottles are considered especially heinious. In New York City the dedicated doctors who prescribed these important medications are members of an elite squad known as the Push Down and Turn… These are their meds… DUNN DUNNN

Any of you kids heard of the band Black Flag?
In our current medical system, patients are separated into two disparately valued groups...
Kaiser Permanente?
My dumbass thought “which way opens the bottle, they’re both pointing in the same direction?”
This is probably a good time to remind everyone of Old Glory Insurance. For when the metal ones decide to come for you…and they will.
Dun dun
Push down and tuuuuuurrrnnn

For a brief second, I thought it was a repost of my post about the exact same thing on this exact same sub.
I haven’t dug into your comments, but if they’re like mine, enjoy people telling you it’s not exactly the Law & Order font.

You should play this whenever she opens and closes the bottle:
I love these ones, they're so dramatic
So does mine
Huh, I recognized it as the Scrabble font
Edit: Actually, it was Upwords, not Scrabble
Also the Black Flag font
Holy Hell, I KNEW that looked familiar! Thank you!
And i would still mess it up
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/mildlyinteresting.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I wonder if there's actually anything behind this.
Did marketing use this font, knowing it will help the elderly accept the lettering and blindly follow instructions?
Will it suddenly be easier to open?
Is it intended to strike fear into the hearts of others attempting to open what's not rightfully theirs?
Dun dun
When she is done with the bottle someone needs to add a digital recorder inside that is light activated and plays that sound when the bottle is opened.
I just learned the other day that they actually trademarked that DUN DUN sound. Guess it really was that iconic!
Yup! It's called "The Clang"
