I had a problem with mice in the garden once, and a friend told me to spray WD40 everywhere, so I did.
It didn't work, but at least the mice stopped squeaking..

Lmao, you don't pay. It's just to keep people from overusing and/or stealing. Some companies can be overly stingy though. You "buy" things with your employee card. Its also a pretty convenient way to get certain work supplies without having to bother the people in the warehouse.
Dual duty, stops abuse and helps with inventory tracking. We have the same type of system for our cutting inserts, collets, taps and solid carbide tooling etc. Ours is only for inventory management anyways but for larger workplaces i can certainly see theft being a problem.
Yes. Fastenal has been putting WD40 in their vending machines for several years. Maybe this is the first WD40 only vending machine.

When I went to trade school for automotive we had a vending machine with WD 40 in it but this is next level.
I speak and read Japanese and the language on the machine is not Japanese, so I assume it's Chinese. My guess is Taiwan because I can't imagine Line, a Japanese social media platform, is popular in mainland China. I could be wrong.

WD-40 is good for breaking stuff free initially. After it's loosened up, clean the WD-40 away and use a proper lubricant: oil, silicone spray, grease, Teflon spray, ... Definitely use something better than standard WD-40 on fast moving chains and gears.
It is a water displacement system, basically a corrosion inhibitor, and the low surface tension makes it a nice penetrant oil.

I know what it is and what it does, but it IS a lubricant. For that matter, water is also a lubricant. But, like I said earlier, it's not a GOOD lubricant, and we agree on this.

Before and after marathons, when you notice them starting to get dry, and whenever you cook bacon (wait until it cools before applying grease).
WD= Water Displacement
The W in 10W-40 motor oil means "Winter", it doesn't mean it's not a lubricant.
WD-40 is not a good lubricant for long-term use, though. Neither is water or bacon grease.
It was designed specifically to displace water for electronics I believe.

There are no Katakana anywhere on the machine, though some of the Chinese characters may look similar because Katakana and Hiragana were originally based on them.

This is actually kinda cool but where would you actually have something like this? If I go to the hardware store for some WD-40 I’d be kinda pissed if they had this instead of it just on the shelf. Especially if this thing ate my money & didn’t expel the product. Like most vending machines. I take it back. This would SUCK!

[Plumbing parts] is the vending machine that needs to be made. I busted an angle stop under my kitchen sink on Sunday afternoon. All the hardware stored were closed until Monday morning. I had to shut off the main and have no water until I could buy the replacement. If there were a plumbing vending machine, I would have gladly paid double to fix his sooner.
