When we adopted our current 2 cats from the shelter, I noticed most of the cats had lizardlike names. One of my cats Luna has an appropriate name due to the white spot on her belly. But Ash was originally "Anole" which I had to google and it's a species of lizard. I was like "who names cats after lizards??" We renamed her Ash bc she's gray like ashes, but also she has zero concern for her personal safety. We joke she's speed running through her 9 lives.

One of the many times I’ve been extremely proud that my cat Luna’s government name is Lunar Module.
I took my IW mix Peaches to the vet one morning and they advised me they had 2 other Peaches scheduled for around the same time lol.
I work at a shelter and every time we get foster puppies/kittens back and the foster has named them, there's a Bella and/or a Luna without fail. We ended up having like 3 Bella's and 2 Luna's on the floor for adoption at once and started having to add middle names or just rename them entirely (which fosters hate) because it was just too confusing for everyone.
Only one Luna dog on my vets panel.
Our cats name is Luna because shes a damn lunatic and has been since we brought her home. Shes wonderful and chaotic.

when I worked at a vet we had a Mr. Dasiy, because the kids named it before they realized it was a boy cat. There was a Mr. Emily too.
At 2 years old I named my male cat Rainbow, and his brother was Sunshine
LOL I have a cat we call “Miss Daisy” and there is a male cat in the neighborhood we moved into who likes much like her. The first time we saw him on our ring we freaked out thinking our (inside only) girl had escaped. Now when we see him we call him Mr. Daisy!

Side note, where I work we have a guinea pig that was named Petunia then discovered to be a boy so it got renamed to Petunio and I love him and his name very much.

As a vet, this is a cute idea, but 99% of clinics aren't staffed enough to make this a priority every single day. There's also the awkward problem of sick pets/pets being euthanized where it might not be as cute.

We only listed the names for the well pet visits. Probably would have looked strange, but we had enough volume to where we couldn't fit them all anyway.

Then, I was like, "waaaait, is this... a season finale?" I googled only to find out if was the series finale. I was sad for the rest of the episode.

And this is why a cat I owned wasnt named Doofus, but was instead named Fry. His sister liked to attack your toes so she was named Nibbler, first. Her brother's name just felt appropriate since Fry is a doofus on Futurama.
I miss Fry. He was a lovable special cat.

My vet has a large glass or acrylic wall. It's nicely done with some permanent graphics saying which vet is in today, and which patients are coming in today.
They also have a candle on the counter for the moments that a pet is taking the walk over the rainbow bridge. With a kind request to keep it somber due to someone's loss today.
This is why my chihuahua is called THE DESTROYER.

Y'all are joking but I've had people argue that since human info is in the pet files, linked with prescriptions too, it is actually HIPAA.
Like, multiple people. And many practices operate that way.
You joke but it is a real issue with domestic violence victims. The pets are often used to abuse and control the victim. When I worked at a vet clinic we occasionally were asked to never disclose information about pets because the ex would try to track them down that way
