His last game he should just start chucking like Kobe did
I think everyone tries to do that their last game
I can confirm. Rec league, didn’t make playoffs, last game. I’m going for 10 points.
The streets will remember you
They call him the Mamba of McDonalds parking lot pickup
Jamba Mentality

I drew a foul with 2 seconds left in a rec league game we were down by 30 in
Imagining you clapping hard and taking the free throws seriously af
Clapping in dude’s face
“BOX TF OUT!”
I'M FUCKING CRYING RIGHT NOW 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gotta miss the second one and get his on rebound too
Screaming at the refs that it hit the rim
You should win MVP
Going for career high in your last game. True baller!
Go off player
Dirk almost died in his last home game the way everyone kept passing up shots to give him the ball lol
I remember Pop telling his players to stop guarding him during his last game
As much as it would’ve been nice to have his last game at home, having it against San Antonio was a great send off. Their video tribute was cool af
Feel like for legends like him having a retirement tour for a franchise, that they played with for most of if not all of their career, the NBA should prioritize giving them a final send off at home
Only thing is it was odd with Dirk because he didn't actually announce he would retire until near the end of the season, but he kinda just got the retirement tour anyway.
It was pretty clear that he was going to retire or die. Either way, he gets a send-off.
I thought Pop was going to come off the bench and put Drew Eubanks in a figure four leg lock so he’d get away from Dirk. Didn’t matter, Dirk made the shot anyway, but watching Pop jump up and down trying to get his own player to not play defense was awesome.
put Drew Eubanks in a figure four leg lock
Come on. Pops would have used a sharpshooter
Maybe even a Texas cloverleaf.
I thought Dirk had a great shot at passing Jordan in scoring, but his health fell off a cliff those last three or four years. He looked like he was in physical pain from jogging.
he was. he's been on record that he shouldve retired about two years earlier because its hard for him to be active now
He aged in unicorn years
Jamal Crawford dropped 51 in his last game at age 39.
Suns legend
Unless it's a game of consequence, most players should. It's what the fans want to see as well from their fading legends.
It's your last hurrah. Might as well have fun.
That was crazy because the warriors were playing at the same time trying to break the wins record, but just about everyone was tuned into a largely unimportant regular season game because it was Kobe’s last one hahaha
Or finally giving us the slam dunk contest he promised. Just Lebron doing 50 dunks
His last game should be 27-7-7
I can see it already. Midway through the fourth quarter, he already has his 27 points and 7 rebounds. He is just one assist shy. He drives to the basket and the defense collapses on him, LeBron calmly gathers the ball and does a no look kick out to the open man in the corner. He knocks it down for three and looks back at LeBron, but he is gone. People start looking high and low but no one can find him.
Years go by and people start to question if he ever existed at all. Kids born after his retirement start to say he played against Tik-Tok dancers and IT guys, so his accomplishments aren’t even impressive. Or they act like they never even happened. I mean a pass first, 6’8” Forward who plays like a PG and is the career leader in points while completely dominating an entire conference for nearly a decade? Surely the old heads are over-exaggerating.
Generations have gone by now. Lebron is viewed like the Wilt 100 point game. His film is probably just good AI videos and his stats are inflated. At the same time a new kid is coming into the league. Most talked about prospect in decades. He goes first overall in the draft and plays his first NBA game.
As time is running out and his team down by two he drives to the basket, having already scored 27 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. He is the star now, he has to take the final shot otherwise he doesn’t have that killer mentality you nee. Those words ringing in his head. The defense is collapsing on him, but out of the corner of his eye he sees his man open. Instinctively he makes the smart basketball move and kicks it out to the corner. Shot up just in time, and buried for three. His team wins, he finishes the game with 27 points, 7 rebounds, and in the final seconds gets his 7th assist. He celebrates with his teammates and looks up at the box score, proud. Just then a large, bearded maintenance guy cleaning the floor walks by him and says “Nice game, young blood.” He replies with a thanks and looks back only for the maintenance guy to be gone. In the distance he can hear a faint “taco…..tuuuuuesdaaaaay”. He smiles.
The Taco Tuesday really sealed this for me. A+
Yeah this part has me fucking dying.
it shelled it for me
Now you’re thinking outside the bun.
The fuck did I just read and why is it so fire
Gurren Lagann in a nutshell
The LeBron chronicles
He drives to the basket and the defense collapses on him, LeBron calmly gathers the ball and does a no look kick out to the open man in the corner. He knocks it down for three
Nah, in true LeBron role player teammate fashion (so that doesn't include Ray Allen, Kevin Love, etc.), they miss.
Ah yes, Mike Miller, Shane Battier, Ray Allen, Kyle Korver, JR Smith, Channing Frye, James Jones, Mike Bibby, Mario Chalmers, Damon Jones, Daniel Gibson, Mo Williams, DLO, Rondo
Larry Hughes erasure ! (He would have missed)
Yeah I was just thinking that too
This is art my friend. On taco tuesday no less. Take a bow my man.
The NBA needs to make sure their last game of that season is against the wizards.
I dont think the Lakers will make the Finals
LA Lakers v a joint Rockies/White Sox all Star team
lol, bruh
Bro would hang 99 and deliberately shank 2 FTs with .1 left just to prove a point
I mean he carried the lakers to a win. And the lakers players wanted him to shoot they were just immediately passing up the ball.
Same thing when he scored 81. The lakers had 0 business winning that game until Kobe started going crazy.
2005-2006 Lakers were not a good team, and the Mavs went to the Finals that season, but Kobe outscored them 62-61 through three quarters in a game that season (only time a player has outscored the opposing team through three quarters since the shot clock was put in; he then sat the whole 4th, or maybe he tops 81)
Tbf his teammates weren’t gonna let him pass lol. They were feeding him from the tip.
and win. and end a team's playoff hopes.
LeBron taking 50 shots in his last game like Kobe just to see how many points he can get for once in his career would feed generations
I mean, even if it was manufactured, Kobe did it to win the game for them. I don't remember any time in kobes career that he relentlessly hit the gas when it wasn't called for. He always had respect for the other team, and would exit games when the game was clearly over. The one exception maybe being the raptors game, but then for a large part there he was as well playing to keep his team in the game
LeBron's last game should be a 27-7-7, his only one in his career, straight up trolling everyone.
Also, that game would make his career averages at 27-7-7
That would confirm life is a simulation
has lebron really never had a 27-7-7 game? that’s hilarious
The only time he’s ever had it was in the McDonald’s All American Game in 2003. My favorite LeBron fun fact.
Nah we gotta get one 60 FGA game from Bron. I really think he’s had opportunities to score 70+ but he always defers even when nuclear sometimes.
With 60 shots he really could get 100, and for sure beat Kobe’s 81.
I do genuinely believe an NBA player could score 101 if that was the sole pre-planned goal of the team, with no care for winning or playing good team basketball. Of course no coach would ever go for this
Even then, it would still be tricky. During that month in 2024 where a bunch of people were scoring 60+ points per game, you would eventually see the other team completely sell out to get the ball out of their hands. No one wants a new record dropped on their heads.
Reminds me of that commercial where Kobe asks for 81 olives in his martini while staring down Jalen Rose
they might not do it for lebron's last game
give us gordon hayward pretend defense - always will be a legend in my book for that last kobe game
Make that last game against us and it might not even have to be pretend
LOL
give us gordon hayward pretend defense
Last time I said this in here I got shredded.
I guess it's gotta come from a Lakers flair.
We all know what happened but youre only allowed to admit it as a lakers fan, if someone else says it they are just haters
THANK YOU Hayward was such a g for that, made it look like he he cared to defend just enough
I just seen that Pop had to jump and wave to try to get his teams to stop playing crazy D on Dirks last game😭😭
It would have happened if they could..there is a lot of fatigue to get that many shots up, also the other team would eventually send 5 guys to get the ball out of your hand. No one wants to be a part of that.
Yup, wasn't that how Luka's 73pt game went? Like I vaguely remember him being on fire for 3qtrs and in the 4th his scoring slowed because the other team just put all their effort into stopping him, or maybe I'm misremembering.
They started blitzing him at half court lol
"we might lose but I'll be damned if someone breaks Wilt's record against me. triple team him off ball now."
Luka was ridiculously efficient in that game. I can't be bothered looking it up, but I'm 99% positive it must be the most efficient 70-point game that anyone has ever had.
And he played an all-around game, had good rebounding and assist numbers. If he had actually been a little more selfish in that game, he would have at least passed Kobe's 81.
It was the most efficient 50+ point game up to that point, until someone had a more efficient 50 something point game if I remember correctly.
Would have easily had a triple double too but the mavs kept bricking open shots. Legit needed every bucket he scored
That was still maybe the most impressive individual offensive game I’ve ever watched
Plus if a player is within reach of 101 their team is probably dominating, so they would be rested. Like in Klay’s 60 point game, he could have pushed for 70-80, but instead he sat out the entire 4th quarter.
Same for Kobe 62 vs. Mavs in 3 quarters.
Idk, Lillard said during his big game that he felt like he could have kept going. There are a lot of roadblocks that make it difficult, but it's certainly possible, especially in the era where players are getting really good at taking deep 3's off the dribble.
You need a player that can shoot lights out, has the green light, a team that works to get them open looks, a coach that is fine letting one person chuck up shots, and an enemy team that phones it in on defense which honestly isn't that big of a stretch. The biggest barrier is that you have to start off hot and recognize you could drop 100 early on to keep it up, and the coach has to keep you in the game even though best practices would be to take your hot player off the court if he single handedly gets you a 30 or 40 point lead early in the game to avoid tiring him out for no reason.
You need a combination of the other team sucking at defense, but also a coach that isn't going to take out their best scoring player when they are up huge even though every coach in the world is going to sub out somebody with 50 points in a half if their team is up 30 because that's the winning play.
the suns basically tried with booker, they were getting blown out and just let him start chucking
He’s gonna average 40+ ppg next season
I mean the game plan for Kobe’s last game was clearly just feed him the ball and let him score as much as possible. He dropped 60.
Scoring against NBA defenses is hard. Sometimes entire teams don’t even get to 101.
Reddit takes start to make more sense once you realize people actually believe crap like this.
The underlying implication being that scoring is actually fairly easy and the only thing stopping players from putting up insane numbers is the fear of inefficiency.
No, scoring is hard as fuck. And yes while there are legitimate criticisms of guys like Melo and Kobe, make no mistake that what they do is extremely hard even.
Sorry for my rant but im just piecing everything together.
That’s basically what happened with Wilt’s, they just kept feeding it to him no matter what until he got it.
Why are they podcasting inside an unfinished shed?
They supposed to be in the workshop.
I don’t think Bron or KD have ever touched a tool in their life lol.
It looks like the first time was when they built this set.
I'm fairly certain both of them have touched Lu Dort before
Man the wine was flowin
Nash looks like he's gotten younger
What not having to coach KD or Kyrie does to a MF
Rich people have access to shit that can do that
90% of that being regular sleep and not having chronically elevated stress levels.
Honestly I hope he stays out of coaching and keeps to more analyst / development roles. Would be way better for stress levels and ageing
i can see luka scoring 101 points in lebron's final game
Did they film this in the shipping container KD's going to Houston in?
Out of nowhere Jab at Wilt
It also makes no sense that people don't believe the 100 point game, yall really think people in the 60s would lie for a black men to hold a record?
Yeah, it's unanimous by everyone there, even opponents and haters. Print media was there. A radio broadcast supposedly surfaced for a while.
Anyone who doubts it is probably just used to something like fox news nowadays that lies and makes everything up.
Honestly, he would have had many 90+ point games if he shot free throws like he did that night.
I’ve read that some people doubt the game happened but I didn’t realize it was believed by actual NBA players.
If Tyler Herro believes that anything before 1950 was faked, then the bottom of the barrel is really really low
Didn’t bron say he thinks his draft was probably rigged to go to Cleveland? They can believe in conspiracies too
Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard a Wilt dis... I also didn't realize that the record was in dispute 🤷♂️ Guess I'm the casual now!
Would be cool to listen to the audio from the recorded radio broadcast from that game though to hear how it went down.
I understand having doubts since there’s no video evidence, but at the time that would be such a weird thing to lie about
there is a radio broadcast, though.
Right? And I mean there are photos, audio, and eyewitness accounts... If this was fake, it would be a staged moon landing level conspiracy to pull off I'd think
True, but we know that there are NBA players who buy things such as the moon landing conspiracy
The amount of nephews in this thread is eye-opening.
If Bronny has a kid this season, we could legit have Legrand Dad in the league before he retires.
I mean, he got a girlfriend, so it's not exactly unlikely
I assume they are waiting until marriage though.
LeCelibate
Bronny has not been suspended from BYU
LeSpeakItIntoReality
Why didn't they show the part where they built a fort?
What's the over/under on a LeBron points bet for his last game? 70.5?
This podcast is the true NBAcirclejerk
He can’t resist knocking legends.
Is this podcast filmed in the back of a warehouse?
Ey Bronny get to work
His grandkids being teammates on the court with him I imagine.
If LeBron actually went on a scoring spree to reach 100 points, considering the sheer amount of mega star players in their 35+ (Steph,KD, Harden etc) it will probably cause a league craze to see who can score the most.
Teams would base their hole game plan around their star scoring as much as possible, for at least a month, like the 60+ era of last year.
I would very much like to see such an event.
slightly off-topic: imagine the effort it takes to put together a set that looks like it took no effort to set up
There are at least 50 different modern ways to decorate that set
Shit looks like a homeless camp
One drive around a downtown American city will tell you homeless camps are so en vogue right now
Homeless camps. So hot right now.

It looks like a squatters hut where people are stealing scrap copper
Did Steve Nash steal my catalytic converter?
I assumed it was specifically decorated to look undecorated to try and make the point that this podcast is supposed to be more about “just basketball” and less about the bs on some other pods or all of ESPN
I like the casual vibe it gives
Funny to have like $2 billion in career earnings in front of thirty bucks of plywood.
The random leaning 2x4s... lol ok
it looks like a venice beach bathroom
Damn bro. That's vile.
Have you been to Venice lately? I had to kick the crackheads out just so my son could use the bathroom. It’s crazy how ugly it has gotten
Heavy skateboard Venice dude from 2014-2020. Those bathrooms became absolutely insane. Saying this as someone who lived in there van for a while in between places. The people and the shit I would see possible at a beach bathroom is burned in my retinas
it was pretty much like that in 2017 when i lived in weho
Doesn't even have to be Venice. Had to kick meth heads out of a park bathroom in fucking Buena Park. Them MFers are EVERYWHERE.
It’s the podcast equivalent of Jeff Winger’s wardrobe
This set is streets ahead.
POP POP!
You just made me snarf
They definitely moved a light at least three times to adjust the angle of the random leaning wooden plank.
The shadow was competing with the glare of the wine glass when KD nervously holds when he lies about not wanting Nash fired.
Maybe it’s the back view of Savannahs podcast setup
Every other bar and sports talk show set (podcasts included) in america, has two looks: walls plastered in a mess of sports memorabilia or walls that look like they caught a bunch of debris in a tornado (license plates, car bumpers, lockers, empty picture frames, a dollar that's been written on, a football)
Looking like Osama's hideout in Tora Bora
LOL Yep. That shit is like two pieces away from Matan's podcast (IYKYK), and that dude deliberately wants their set to be ass.
Kids really like that pod? I guess it’s no different for our generation and the Tom Green Show
oh shit the table is leaving
I'm grown and i love it
he has some golden nuggets despite all the things older heads want to come after him for. like that bit about the gym membership with bradley martin. i could not care less about matan or bradley, but that bit he did with him was gold.
or when he tries not breaking in the bad friends pod. hate him for w/e reason you want, but he's young and understands comedy for, at least, his brand.
You know he’s the kid who got on the jumbo tron and had the free Hong Kong shirt
I think it's cool, it's a literal behind the scenes, like in movie shootings and such
Yeah, first thought I had was that it looked like backstage in some productions I’ve worked on. I really like it. Lighting is also great.
But it’s constructed intentionally to produce that effect, which essentially nullifies it. Look at tucker carlsons stupid ass for another example of someone attempting the same false constructed “anti establishment” aesthetic despite having millions in corporate backing.
Takes slot to light something like that though.
Seems like it'd take a lot less effort lol
They had to do it to match KD’s hair
I don't know why looking homeless is suddenly a rich people fashion statement. I guess it feels exotic when you have billions of dollars to spend.
Its supposed to differ from overly-professionalized setups
Aka casual
It looks like the storage closet of a hockey arena
It's looks like behind the set of a middle school play.
