Who TF ask someone that shit? Read the room dude lol
Shouldve asked him why Thibs was fired and what he'll do differently
You think they didn't ask that?
Idk did they?
They did. He said he didn’t want to get into the past.
Instructions unclear, ask him why he left golden state
Should've asked him why thibs is rocking the stewie griffin and not the full baldie
They effectively did when they asked him what he plans to differently than thibs 😭
"I was brought to play Leon's 5 FRP guy a few minutes fewer."
"Alright fine this is why I was fired from Sacramento."
On the contrary, the dude read the room and it's exactly why they asked that question. It's the height of the off-season. There is no news to be reported.
Thats a completely fair question - this dude is a classic case of failing upwards so his last job is worth asking about
Not sure if Mike brown is as failing upwards as everyone thinks.
He got some head coaching jobs 15 years ago w mixed results. Then he was demoted back to assistant where he won 4 chips, and then took Sacramento out of hell for the first time since like the mid 2000s. It’s pretty damn good resume the last 10 years
Yeah, we all know Steph, Klay, KD, Draymond, Kerr & Co. couldn't have done it without Mike Brown...
Jesus Christ...
They def could have. But every single team likely could have won a chip w a different coaching staff. That’s not rly saying much. A lot of these teams, including teams like the warriors w out kd(I think those kd teams beat anyone even if im coaching), could have also failed given the wrong coach.
Is Mike brown the right coach? Idfk. But he certainly has a good resume and a good track record. Making a team the best offense of all time in ur first year as coach is not smth to just scoff at
I feel like sports reporters are considerably worse than most others when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Classy response.
But also a smart one. No explanation needed its the Sacramento Kings and obviously it wasn't held against him.. Man didn't even have to wait a full season to get a huge upgrade in roster
Is it just me or is that kind of a dumbass question to ask at an introductory press conference? I mean, the drama behind all that has been pretty well documented. Reporter is headline hunting.
NY media is fucked
Most media is fucked lol
I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that type of question, but the way you ask it has to be tactful.
"What are you taking from the relationship breakdown in Sacramento" is a hell of a lot different that flat out asking "Why did you get fired? Did they tell you?"
Vivek is all the explanation needed. Every 2 years with him
I mean Vivek is a big issue no doubt, but Brown’s rotations were ass, and giving Keon Ellis DNPs was a fireable offense in and of itself.
Remember his first year when he started KZ Okpala instead of Keegan Murray? Fireable offense from the beginning.

I don't know what's harder on the eyes; the racial stereotype or the bizarre formatting.
He is probably indian so he feels he can say it lol
I’d bet that dude is Indian
This feels like one of those stereotypes specific enough that it's only known within the community.
you are 100% on the money. The only people that talk abt Indians like this, are in fact Indians. Source: am one
Same
How're yall doing with head coaches bruh
What a stupid question.
"Who the fuck starts a conversation like that? I just sat down!"
He's been fired 4 times, the most in NBA history. It's a perfectly valid question
I'm not saying he's not a shit coach. We lived it. I'm saying that was months ago and has nothing to do with his new job. This reporter is fishing for answers to something no one gives a shit about anymore, it's a stupid question.
Why? His performance at last job is extremely relevant and he was mediocre at best
He's been mediocre at best at all of his past jobs. Even if he was "coach of the year"
Yup he's not good
I'm not saying he's not a shit coach. We lived it. I'm saying that was months ago and has nothing to do with his new job. This reporter is fishing for answers to something no one gives a shit about anymore, it's a stupid question.
Reporters shouldn't be PR for the team, yet too many of them are and just ask fluff questions. I'm glad this reporter asked a good question.
This fool was giving DNPs to a player who was the team's best defender AND best shooter because he "couldn't find the minutes". We need to stop acting like the firing was unwarranted
If he just started Keon Ellis from the start of the season, Brown would’ve at least lasted until the end of the season. It was the most obvious thing to do and everyone saw it except Mike Brown. Classic case of overthinking and outsmarting yourself.
Keon was also starting at the end of the previous season. So he literally went from playing a starter to DNPing him.
maybe it's because he's a bad coach
I still wish him the best of luck. Took us to the goddamn 3 seed.
Imagine going from DeAaron Fox to Jalen Brunson.
That's gotta be one of the biggest differentials ever.
Mike Brown won out.
will never forget a fan taking a pic with Mike Brown at a ChickFila after the Lakers fired him
Y we acting like Fox is a bum
Maybe not in basketball but he's a certified bum for those NFT rug pulls
Fox pulled an nft grift?!
Just saying from a coaches standpoint
Mike Brown really didn't get along with Fox
Meanwhile Thibs loved Brunson as much as a straight man can love another man.
I thought Fox liked Brown? Was it not mutual?
Fox did like Brown. Sabonis didnt like Brown and both fox and sabonis didnt like mcnairs gm skills.
Fox boy brown was a big part of the roster issues as well though.
He overrode a couple of trades because he didnt like the player.
Called John Collins and Brandon ingram low iq players.
Personally glad Ingram didn't happen because he's injury prone but Collins would have been a big upgrade over Kevin huerter in the starting lineup. Could have moved keegan to the three
for my eyes test BI actually low iq player tho, he just so fuckin talent but somehow he just fuckin cant run a play
lots of his assist come from JV and Zion / Fox would avg 10 assist per game if he got that 2
Fox asked out because firing Mike Brown was his line in the sand. We fired Brown, and Fox said get me the fuck outta here.
both of them loved workin wit each other, it was sabonis and huerter who had problems wit him
You're wrong. Fox and Brown got along. How the Kings fired Brown was the reason Fox finally demanded a trade.
They got dinner together after Brown was fired. The kings just tried to spin it like Fox was difficult and wanted Brown gone
I'm still baffled by this hiring. They got a really good regular season coach who eventually loses the locker room. BuT sTePh AnD DrAy- yeah as an assistant. He filled in great, but he's not a long term solution
How did you manage to land another HC job? Don’t worry about it wink wink - MB
The ownership of Sacramento aka Vivek us all that's needed to know
He goes from having Fox to Brunson leading a team talk about lucky
Dolan is no picnic though
He absolutely is. You will never hear players speak ill of him with the exception of Charles Oakley. Dolan is beloved by the people that work for him
Some of these question, would you ask anyone this on the street? NBA media can be a bit of clown show.
“It’s above me now”
Reporters ask the dumbest questions.
He fucked over Keon Ellis and played Terence Davis over Davion Mitchell in game 7 to guard Steph, to start.
he will be fired from Knicks within 3 years
We gotta “normalize” naming the person who asked the question, whether it was appropriate or not.
Who the hell asks that?
"You good bro? Who is this guy? What's your name?"
"Greg Doyel"
"oh."
Good luck Brown!
lol wtf is bsky?
“Vivek meddles too much”
Jeremy Lamb is Juntao
What’s crazy is that whole tidbit about Jeremy lamb is a complete falsehood I have no idea why Amick included that just so say that him and Viveks daughter weren’t together anymore.
It is fucking hilarious to imagine Jeremy Lamb twerling in his seat next to Vivek wearing a “not like us” t-shirt tho
Hey Vivek, YOU are the THEY we are talking about when we say “they not like us”
“… and fuck Keon Ellis”
"Keon was fucking my wife."
It's because Keon wouldn't stop hitting Mike with the batwing and goat whenever Mike wasn't paying attention.
Really sucks what happened for you guys. Praying you guys get a better owner one day.
I mean Vivek does suck but a majority of us wanted brown gone. He was an absolute disaster this season. He got exposed once Jordi wasn’t there to do everything for him.
Yup, to those of us who say through Kings games it was obvious thst MB had lost the locker room. That and his dumbass rotations did him in.
Exactly. I recall a ton of Kings comments about wanting Mike fired. Hell, a bunch of Kings fans didn't even want him hired in the first place
Brown was definitely not doing a great job before he was fired, but there were some steps along the way where he could have made it to the end of the season. The FO wanted Mike to fire an assistant in order to shake up the locker room and hopefully get us out of our big slide. Brown opted to say no and be loyal to his guys. The Detroit game was the last straw. Vivek definitely did wrong in the how he fired Brown, but was ultimately justified in doing so.
