Kevin Durant praises Ime Udoka’s defensive schemes: “One possession regular man, next possession zone, go back to man, the next 3 possessions zone. All in the first quarter… If a Coach does that and you’re not prepared for it, you’re all off balanced.”

This was filmed during the finals so he said all this before he went to Houston

It’s funny how people don’t realize how pre recorded these things are.

He probably told the Suns the teams he wanted to go to, so KD prob assessed his options at this point

I was smiling from ear to ear throughout the whole pod man. They did some amazing breakdowns of modern offenses/defenses. Was nice seeing the Pacers and Carlisle get a lot of love throughout the show.

Yeah, I think this was one of the best episodes they’ve done - all three so clearly love the game and are so clearly students of the game. KD brought great energy here - his passion is infectious, and hearing the three of them talking about the drive to be great made me feel things. I’d love to see KD become a regular.

Man what Boston did to the nets that series(2022 if I’m not mistaken)probably gave them nightmares. Was crazy to see the nets get so stifled but that roster was filled with midgets and Boston exploited it.

Udoka did come from Boston they always had good defensive teams so it's no wonder he would incorporate it with Houston

He was a major reason why they were a great defensive team, not the other way around

Players have said that Joe Mazulla was the one behind the defense when Ime was here in 2022

Literally as soon as he left they brought in Jrue, White & a part time KP to cover up for Mazulla Ball’s emphasis on overwhelmin offense.

Derrick White was an integral part of that 2022 Finals team, he was a midseason trade when the Celtics were turning things around under Udoka. Jrue and KP definitely helped solidify that defense, but I don't think it had anything to do with Mazzulla. Brad Stevens was trying to improve the roster any way he could to win, as a GM is supposed to do.

Uh Mazulla was the one who came up with the defensive scheme in 21-22.

Biggest issue in 22-23 was Rob Williams and Marcus Smart not staying healthy.

Celtics swarming defense against KD was an highlight of the bus-rider-era.

The fact that this was filmed before the finals. I was surprised that they didnt talk about Hali's achilles then realised that this was before.
