The best part of this story is that the dog was not a St Bernard or a Swiss mountain dog - as most would expect, the dog that located and saved his hooman was a Chihuahua!
A "Furry" Chihuahua.
Exactly. When I read the headline I just thought, ok, well, and why is that special now to make international headlines. Then I clicked the post and saw the picture and thought, ok, a chi, that is indeed different.
This dog did not just fetch help it rescued like a real-life Lassie in the Alps!
OK but did it bring him hot spiked cocoa from a barrel worn around its neck??
Asking the important questions here.
He looks cold, but very, very patient.
The video work for anyone else? Shows a dog on top of a rock and ice but only plays videos of Benjamin Netanyahu, lol. So odd
Thank you - I was very confused by the video myself
At least they didn't claim it was a "miracle"
“Imagine if the dog wasn’t there," Air Zermatt spokesman Bruno Kalbermatten said by phone.
Let's ask why the man brought his dog, risking its life. It's one thing to be exploring yourself and you know the risks of falling into a crevasse, but your dog? I'm not even going into the lives of the rescuers who are also at risk. I would like to know that he was financially charged a pretty penny for that rescue.
He brought it so the helicopter folks would know where he was. Duh. How else were they going to find him?
That dog was basically a human rescuer in fur... really, how calm and focused did it have to be to just sit there like that? The fact that they even credited it with saving his life is wild.
