Kirk getting his haircut at Great Clips having made $200m+ in his career is pretty funny when you think about the report that came out this week about Malik Beasley getting sued for not paying back something like $40k in loans to his barber.
People are out there financing haircuts? Crazy to me. But I'm a white suburban dad who shows an old picture of me when I go to SuperCuts so I'm obviously in the Kirk C. club
The report said he had something like $60k owed between his barber and dentist but they described the debts as personal loans so not sure what the nature was.
His dentist was garnishing his NBA paychecks

I don't think the tech is super advanced, but I've never had a barber have anything like this. They're on booksy now and you can book an appointment online, even that is relatively novel. Beats having to call/text the guy like back in the old days.

I go to a different haircut chain that's sports themed and they have the same shit. It's still under a 5 minute drive from my house if I hit all the red lights. So yeah, I go on the website, sign in, and drive over and never wait more than a few minutes for my favorite stylist, next available.

I’ll never forget the day I went to a great clips in my teens. Lady charged me 20(which was a lot back then) to literally just run the clip through may hair a few times. She was done in under 5 mins. No shape up, nothing. I might’ve been her first black customer. I was too shy to say shit back then 😭The day I find myself in a great clips is the day hell freezes over.
They get a bad rap but I've gotten my hair cut there for years and I've never had a problem with them. And I also love the app wait time feature. It's clutch.
Great Clips is fine if you know how you want your hair cut. I've never had an issue because I can tell the stylist exactly what I want, and 99% of the time, that's what I get.
Great Clips sucks if you don't know how you want your hair cut and rely on your barber to style it.
It's fine if you can pull off a really simple, pretty short hair cut in a generic one size fits all way. If you want a style with any amount of length to it or want any amount of attention to detail for how a cut should look on you specifically, you don't wanna be in one of these $10 cut chains. There's a reason these stylists are working at a budget chain and not charging more for their "skills", they're trying to churn people in and out with quick "meh good enough" tier cuts
Great Clips has quotas so they basically have to cut your hair as fast as possible.
If you want anything more than a basic cut, these haircut mills are definitely not the place to go.
What I love is the lady at the Cook Out place didn't seem to know who he was, and the lady giving him a haircut didn't really have any idea either. Which just seems very on brand for Kirk, so he doesn't feel weird going to these places like a normal guy.

I’m in the restautant bizz in West Michigan, and he/his family has been into multiple establishments I’ve worked at. My sister has waited on him. They also eat , drink and tip like the average person.
