Man, his feet. They don’t stop moving.
I saw a post that compared his running away from defenders like a dog that has something in its month it shouldn't and your trying to catch it. And now anytime I see him scrambling thats all I think lol
I've always heard it described as "Toddler that stole Mom's phone and is running around the house to keep it from her".
“Whats that you got there?”
“A KNIFE!”
NOOO!!
I’ve seen that applied to Mahomes, with the modifier that the toddler has a full diaper
Wait I’m sorry I’m missing something. Is this just implying mahomes having a dump truck butt?
I think it is his hip movement while running that makes him look like that.
also his head-body ratio
Lol that's pretty good. I like that better
This is perfect, lol.
I saw a post that compared his running away from defenders like a dog that has something in its month it shouldn't and your trying to catch it.
"running like a toddler who stole their parents phone"
Channeling the spirit of Muffin I see.
He would be my choice for Olympic flag football qb
Anti Cam Ward
As a huge hockey fan seeing “Cam Ward” all the time in NFL discussions still throws me off. I was really fuckin confused here for a second 😂
Not sure what you mean. Saw Cam in a few games last season, one of his best traits was extending plays with his feet
Not in terms of extending plays, just in general. Watch Kyler’s feet when he stands at the top of the pocket and then watch Cam’s. Kyler does whole lot of hopping and shuffling whereas Cam takes fewer, more deliberate steps.
Tippy tappies 🥰
My Dad would lose his absolute mind watching this lmao. “Don’t run backwards! What are you doing!!…oh nice.”
How are you gonna be a receiver running around for almost 21 seconds and not get separation
Got tired after running around for 10 seconds.
Even the OL was running longer than the WRs if that was the case lol
The way they ended up resetting 10 yards behind the line was great.
Looks like 95 (is that rochelle) was super winded tword the end there
Plus because it was a two point conversion, there’s less field for the receivers to work with
Watching it back it looks like they drop 7-8 defenders in coverage.
They initially rush three but #90 stays back at the original line of scrimmage as Murray gets going, so it's really just two guys trying to get pressure and nine clogging up the receivers.
Kyler is also short/can't see the middle of the field well. Its a matter of Kyler having his eyes up looking at the same time a receiver momentarily gets a window.
This is such a stupid and blatantly not true repeated comment on every Kyler thread. Kyler, for the 2nd time in the last 3 years, led the league in passing over the middle. Both short and deep passes. Stop making things up.
This is r/NFL, a haven of dumbshits that just repeat whatever they heard or saw one person say. You're mistaken if you think they actually watch football
I'm impressed some of them can apparently read.
Lol just keep saying fake things.
They rushed three, and one of the three drops back into coverage.
So he's got five eligibles covered by nine defenders.
This is a dumb question.
Im sure there were plenty of times where they got separation.
Quarterback is actively avoiding pressure and scanning so it’s easy to miss guys if they are only open for a second.
They are playing from the 2yd line which believe it or not does not leave a lot of room in the secondary.
yeah, looks like they barely rushed 3, number 90 looked like he was spying the run
that's 8 guys in coverage on 4 or 5 receivers
You clearly don’t understand the randomness of football and trying to sync up with your qb who is the ultimate jitterbug.
Red zone, 2pt conversion so throwing short of the goal line is worthless, almost everyone drops into coverage, and Kyler is running around like a chicken with its head cut off? You could have prime Calvin Johnson out there but if he only gets open when Kyler literally has his back turned to the goal line it doesn't really matter.
Watch at the end. They're half-assing their routes because they think he's going to get sacked.
There was 8 or 9 guys in coverage and a limited amount of room to work with on a 2 point conversation. On top of that, Murray was 20 yards back for a lot of it which requires extra separation. With that in mind, its kinda impossible for them to get enough separation no matter how much time unless Murray gets closer to the line of scrimmage
Because you’re confined to running within the 10 yard deep end zone along with 16 other players and you have to not only get separation from your defender, there has to be an open lane for the QB to throw to you in all that traffic, the QB has to be able to get a throw off despite the D Line trying to kill him, and he has to see you in time.
Tbf murray was looking from 15-20 yards out. The window has to be huge. Murray needed to get closer to the endzone.
The way he runs is so funny and idk why
I once heard it described as "running like a toddler who stole their parents phone" and that seems oddly accurate
He runs like those thin legged birds on the beach when a shallow wave comes in
Sandpipers!
Biologist here! Sandpipers are oddly shaped because...just kidding; I don't know anything about those things or biology. But Murray does run funny. My vote goes for "runs like a doggy with something in his mouth he's not supposed to have".
Physical chemist here! Sandpipers are birds. They have beaks and feathers. Hope that helps!
Only once? It’s usually brought up every time his name comes up on redd.
Like fifteen times a thread
It's like that person that thinks they're insanely clever for quoting King of the Hill every time someone mentions Phoenix. Like holy shit how unoriginal is your entire existence?
It's been brought up 20+ times in any thread about him since he was drafted lmao
I haven't been able to unsee this since that read that quote.
It’s because he runs like a straight plank, flintstones style
Obligatory DO NOT look at this guy's post history. I warned you all.
What an incredible way to get people to look at this guy's post history.
Homie just really likes hentai I guess
me when the guy named a massive pervert is a massive pervert
He runs like Wee-man getting chased by the fat guy in the Jackass movies.
Short legs quick feet lol
His head looks so big 😭
I like watching Kyler run. It's just like watching my corgi run with the big dogs at the park
Stuff like this is why you just cannot give up on him. His ceiling is MVP, his basement is absolute dog water.
Seemed like the wheels would fly off way quicker and much worse with KK. Gannon and Petzing have been able to steady it a bit but there continues to be the late season collapses.
NGL Gannon is goated. I see him as a dark horse COTY candidate. Saw him coach in person once at Levis with the Passtronaut and realized he was the only guy holding that teams morale together. Just doesn't ever give up.
Alright, just put it into the parlay
The one time I did last year I think MHJ went for 3 touchdowns, so hell yeah, Cardinals Country Let's Batter Up
He cant reach the ceiling
Ok ill see myself out
You guys should be great and Murray should be in MVP talks. Everytime I see him he looks likes he's got something.
Why haven't you guys been able to put it together?
And is Murray on the hot seat?
Inconsistency and late season falloff is the Murray curse.
Most of that can be blamed on Kliff Kingsbury. He’s a great “6th gear” coach. When everything is rolling, the team could beat anyone. The second any hiccups happen, the Cardinals would kick into neutral and be lost. Wasn’t just Kyler and the offense but pretty much all across the board.
Lots of improvement under Gannon and Petzing is polarizing but he’s gotten the most out of the Cardinals offense in the Murray era IMO.
We were five plays away from being 13-4 last year. We are heading into year three of the rebuild and picked up Josh Sweat, Dalvin Tomlinson, Calais Campbell, Walter Nolen, and Will Johnson. Our 1st rounder from last year, Darius Robinson missed almost his entire rookie year with injury and then bereavement.
Safe to say the Cardinals potential is higher right now than it has been since Bruce Arians best year.
All our hopes lie with a little hobbit, somewhere in the desert…
Mixture of Murray being surrounded by dog water most of his career or having no o line plus Murray not being consistent. We’ve also had a ton of great Murray games that have been lost due to no defensive roster. FWIW, Murray wins us more games being Murray than he has lost us. However, I’m still fine with moving on from him at some point because I think it might be at the point where he needs a change of scenery and deserves a fresh start.
I’m hoping Gannon/Monti were the “change of scenery” and he’s gonna start ballin. I know he’s been in the league a bit now but he’s never really had a solid balanced roster with a competent front office/coaching staff. So I’ll just keep being a blindly optimistic AZ sports fan
I feel like no matter how good or bad y'all are y'all are just at a baseline "🙂" as a fanbase lol
Real Stafford in Detriot situation then?
Yeah, but while I think Murray has a higher ceiling, Stafford was always a lot more reliable which is usually more important.
He may never be truly great but his highs are just fucking incredibly fun
I can’t remember another player who I am so confused over my OWN opinion of him.
Was out of the country when this game happened. I remember going to bed and LV was up 20-0 at halftime. When I woke up I saw the score was 29-23 in OT with AZ winning. Thought there was a glitch in the scores then saw the highlights. Just insane to see how LV had multiple chances to put them away in the 2nd half and missed each one. What a game by Murray and AZ. The one play that stood out the most was Murray somehow escaping a bear hug from Crosby to keep a play and the comeback going.
Imagine how I felt checking the halftime score of SB 51 and not looking again until after the game.
This was when mcdumbass was still trying to run jacobs out of town so when they were up 20 points he never started running the ball lol
As an OU fan, I'll always love Kyler. I just wish he'd take that next step.
It's not for a lack of trying, but you know......baby steps.
Impressive there were no penalties called on this play. A lot can happen in 20 seconds.
For real, the discipline by his Oline is just as impressive here.
helps there were basically two rushers lol
Now I want to see the top 10 longest plays (by time).
I assume the majority of them are end of game lateral nonsense with a sprinkle of Murray and Russell Wilson shenanigans
McNabb too- if I recall correctly he had an 18+ second play to convert a 4th down.
RIP Greg Gumbel, always loved his calls.
Damn I didn't see that he passed in December. He was great
IT'S UNBELIEVABLE! Great, genuine emotion there, he couldn't have the captured the moment any better
He’s such a weird little man. Unique as hell.
I so badly want him to put it all together because he has akl the talent to be a top QB he just hasn't consistently shown it
The league is so much more fun when Kyler is healthy
Early season Kyler is always fun
It’s a lot less fun when you see every snap versus just the highlights.
and this is why people refuse to give up on him. pretty wild play
He averaged 1 yard per 10.4 seconds. It's really slow if you ask me.
“Fine, I’ll do it myself.”
Dude is fun, which is more interesting than "elite."
Most unbelievable part of all of this is that there were no flags thrown.
Absolutely unreal job by the Cards not holding at any point during this play.
This should be such a huge advantage for Arizona. They can protect any lead by killing clock without losing downs. Just have Kyler run around for an entire quarter while the game clock bleeds out
85 yards? That's 40-50 at most
THANK YOU! Dude starts at the 7, runs back to the 21-22 yard line and then runs it all the way into the end zone.
So that’s 35-36 yards. Ain’t no way in hell that’s 85 yards.
They have to be counting his sideways runs too, a field is 53 1/3 yards wide.
Still less than 85 yards. Truth in the title. It literally is unbelievable to be that much.
just like coach drew it up
Insane that there was no holding call. Not that there shoulda have been, I just remember fully expecting one cause Cards fans aren’t allowed to have nice things.
Two things. First - this was a great day for comebacks. Second - all hail Greg Gumbel 👌
Had a man open in the first few seconds of the play in the right corner.
This is the most entertaining indictment against a qb I’ve seen in a while.
That was Kyler's first read, you can see his eyes right on him, and when he's looking at that receiver he's covered, so he moves on to the other side of the field, that is when the receiver gets open. Stay casual.
I like your blind defense of your qb, his first read was open and you’re defending it. It’s cute.
The irony of you calling me blind when if you had eyes you can see him look over at that receiver as soon as the ball is snapped, and the defender is dropping in coverage, then he moves on to his next reads.
Sure looks open from the camera angle though we cannot rule out Kyler not seeing it from his perspective at field level.
No, Kyler clearly looks at that guy first, but he's covered by the guy dropping into that zone initially, then he moves on to his next reads on the other side of the field.
This dude is underrated, I’d love to have him on my team. You can see how good he is in flashes but he’s just in a bad situation. He’s got all the tools, except height.
What a play
Ah yes only having 2 players rush one of the league’s best rushing QBs. When will teams learn that is not a recipe for success we seen it happen again last season with the Bears vs Commanders
Madden Ultimate Team ass play
He could be so great if he was more consistent
If only he was this good all the time lol
And that’s when I walked out of the building. Also, god damnit Renfrow. I love you, but mistakes were made.
Is it a mistake if you're sleeping?
Remember that week two of 2022 also had the Jets over the Browns and Dolphins over the Ravens. Complete chaos and this single play represents all those games
[deleted]
I wonder what the longest non-OT game is if you count the length of all untimed plays as well as any plays that extend beyond the end of the quarter.
Edit: Should you also count replay x down plays?
McDaniels was an Offensive Genius!!!! We didn't even need defense!
From when the announcer says "running out of time" to when he crosses the plane was a full 16 seconds lol
the fact there was no flags is a miracle
Man, the pope just died, and you're bringing this up?!
Thank you, Kyler, for giving me reassurance since we drafted him that Bryce's height alone would not guarantee his failure as a starting QB
Watched this live and thought people really sleeping on this kyler Murray kid
This is the type of play that I remember exactly where I was when it happened. I was in the Circa Sportsbook in old Vegas, not believing the catastrophic meltdown
Smh wtf were the Raiders doing
Was that really 85 yards of running?
According to NextGenStats, yes it was.
I love how immediately after the play starts Gumbel says “running out of time”.
Josh McDaniels is one of the worst coaches in NFL history.
It must have been so awesome to coach against him and just try whatever new, unrehearsed plays you want, knowing there is nothing he can possibly do to keep up with a head coach at the NFL level.
Is it that Kyler is that good or the Raiders are just that bad? I think it’s the latter
It's one of those plays where if your team is on defense, you say some dumb shit out loud.. haha like "come on guys, all you had to do was bring him down😭"
Still runs like a three year old with Mom's stolen cellphone
85yards? Edit: I don’t think he ran around for 85yards in any directions.
Just to clarify, he covered a total of 85 yards during the play when you account for all his scrambling, not an 85-yard gain. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.
It was very clear lol
lol for real. Watch the play and if you don’t understand the 85 yards that’s not OPs fault.
Honestly it was really clear. Even without actually watching the play, the title mentioned 2pt conversion. No one should be able to make a 2pt conversion from their own 15 yard line haha
It’s also possible that the person you’re responding to is aware that 85 yards refers to all of the running in this play and it just sounds unbelievable there was that much running.
Oh no. It was clear. I still don’t think it was 85 yards
Next gen stats would disagree with you. I can't link their post though since it's from the eeeevil site.
The entire distance he scrambled in this play was 84.9 yards, so yes, he did.
Just is deceiving. Doesn’t seem like it’s that many yards.
It was an incredibly long play. 20 seconds and he hardly stays still.
That’s what I wondered too
Runs like a bad ass kid that grabbed something he isn’t supposed to have
Watching Kyle's tiny legs run around will never not be funny.
This reminds me of my 7 year old's basketball games with every kid standing around yelling "pass, pass, pass" while the kid with the ball just dribbles around for 20 seconds and then shoots it. Except Kyler's a little too short for my kid's league.
I remember someone saying Kyler runs like a toddler who stole his parents' phone, and this video nails that look.
I still feel like Kyler could win an mvp someday. Maybe I just watch too many highlights
He only had to run 85 yards and do it himself because he was gun shy on his first progression and completely ignored his second read who was wide open in the back corner of the end zone.
Josh McDaniels special! We lost this game after being up 20-0 at halftime.
Plenty of McDaniel’s Specials in 2022 for the Raiders. Losing to a Jeff Saturday coached team takes the cake though.
Pretty sure Matt Ryan had like a 50 yard run on us that game too, longest of his career….
I remember watching that live and he ran that so slow it felt like time slowed down
I’m willing to bet all of my savings even Matt was shocked he made it that far 😂
Does that include the old Chicago dog you've been saving in your fridge?
I got some two-week old wings in the fridge I'll throw in.
"Lol Raiders suck, I fucking knew I could do it "
Matt Ryan, probably. Be hypothetically prepared to pay up, the Raiders actually do suck that much.
Galloped like a baby giraffe
I completely forgot that happened! Only the Raiders lol
Like two or three weeks after Jeff, as just a member of the media, tweeted that the Raiders looked horrible.
Astute observation.
I hate that play.
This or losing to Baker Mayfield 48 hours after joining the Rams
You gotta give it to Jeff Saturday. No other member of the media will back up their mean tweets by becoming a HC and proving themselves right weeks later.
Is he arguably your worst coach you've ever had? I know lane kiffin gets shit, but he had to deal with the crypt keeps-I mean barely alive corpse of Al davis
Dude preferred to lose as long as it was done his way.
I'd say so. He combined destroying morale, dog shit in-game decision-making and play calling, and terrible influence on roster moves and drafting.
I can't think of a single good or even non-harmful thing he brought to the franchise. Every once in a while he had a cool trick play he drew up, that's literally it.
EDIT: not to mention that stupid fucking visor
What’s worse the visor or the pencil
Worst coach? Maybe. Smartest coach? Absolutely.
EDIT: His superior intelligence is also on display here.
Art Shell 2.0 with the bed and breakfast offense was the low of many lows.
Hue was arrogant as hell and defense was trash, but offense was watchable.
Cable was a huge improvement on Art Shell and the offense looked average under Hue as OC.
I'd say Hue Jackson, Tom Cable, and Art Shell the second time was worse than McDaniels.
Yeah. That is my primary memory of this game, that the Raiders were smoking em and then completely blew it.
The Raiders org saw what he did to the Broncos and said let me get in some of that specials too.
I can’t believe anybody gave the guy a chance at HC after the Broncos stint.
Really sucks the hit got put out on Gruden because I thought he was right on the cusp of getting the Raiders back to relevancy
How many games did we lose in the 4th quarter that year. It just seemed like we couldn’t keep a lead.
Reminds me of the 2015 Giants. It was absolutely brutal
Fucked up Renfrows career too
As a pats fan this does not instill confidence lol.
i remember arguing with so many folks that year about wanting him out. they were like “his offense is statistically better” and “if you flip the close losses” and it’s like dude we lost those games for a reason. it wasn’t bad luck. it was the most blown leads of its kind in our history
