Happens to the best of us…
the glass isnt edible
Everything is edible, the real question is how many times you can eat it before dying
Everything is edible at least once.
…can I eat the insulation now?
Wasn't there a guy who once ate a whole aircraft? Im sure this would be like eating a tic tac for him.
aww come on. i just wanted a nibble 😩
On wood too... that's an achievement.
Wood looking tile, I knew better lol
Apparently not.
You can know better and still make a mistake
Is it really knowing then?
Knowing is only half the battle.
Yes. Knowing if i jump through this fire to save my family in this house...i might get burnt but i'm gonna do it anyway because it's a POSSIBLE risk. It's knowing.
That doesnt sound like a mistake… thats a calculated risk
Is placing glass on tiles 100% guaranteed breakage? Because if it’s not.. that would be calculated risk as well wouldn’t it? It all depends on the possibilities I think.
It's not 100% guaranteed. It's very likely though.
Yes, but you can also shit post and not mean anything by it.
As in ceramic tiles that look like wood? Or Laminate?
It really is a nice looking tile,I'm glad I recognized that it in fact is tile.
what do you mean by tile? you mean to tell me thats ceramic?
Yes indeed!
Wtf. Why would you have ceramic tile that looks like wood? That doesn't even make sense to me and super confusing
I knew it! lol tile strikes again
Looks more like lino. Is it actually solid tile?
Mine came lose when prepping to ship the pc - idk how it didnt bust on the tile floor
Just needs duct tape. Duct tape solves everything.
DUCT TAPE MAN SAVES THE DAY!(I'm conquesting it)
Handyman's secret weapon
Mythbusters huh?
Wooden tile.... Fuck I have seen it all now.
Its normal tile that looks like wood
Its a warcrime
Solid idea honestly. Looks nice and allows ground heating
yeah i have that too
0 days since last busted side panel
I don't see the problem, airflow just improved
Pieces look to be fairly large, so perhaps you have yourself a challenging and spicy jig saw puzzle there.
The hell even happen
Apparently that's not wood, it's tile that looks like wood
Another one will post soon.
Look at the bright side, now you have better air flow.
Genuinely how does this even happen, and keep happening. I've moved my pc around so much, hell I've sent the case wrapped in just a towel on a flight twice twice as normal luggage, and the glass is still fine
I’m wondering the same thing. I’ve moved with my PC in the back seat, put the panel down on just about everything and no breaks. knocks on wood
That's what I'm thinking. I moved my PC 2/3 times and nothing.
I’ve done that with the same case
Oh see it's not supposed to do that I think something's wrong
I just dont get it. The last 4 or 5 computers I've built for myself have all had some kind of tempered glass panels and I've never even come close to breaking one. Don't put the pc in a spot where it's likely to be hit. If you have to remove a panel, find a soft, secure surface to set it on before you even begin. If you have to move the entire unit for some reason, remove the panel first or at least make sure you have a safe space to set it down planned out in advance. How the hell are ya'll breaking these things every other day? Do you want to make the baby jesus cry?
My glass broke while I was removing. It never touched the floor before shattering
That sounds more like a problem with the case design or QC than any kind of carelessness on your part. Sometimes show just happens. But id say a case like yours is not the norm. Mostly it's carelessness.
Could be, but OP has the same case as I do.
Is that a cosair? The top looks like a smaller version of my case and mine is a cosair.
Yeah, based off the screws and the general design of it I’m guessing it’s a mid tower Corsair case. Might be a smaller model than mine but same brand
This sub has taught me exactly one thing. No glass panels.
You can have glass panels, just make sure you don't put it on anything harder than glass. My PC is in the living room on carpet, but elevated on acoustic slat panels.
In my 7 years of owning this case not a single glass panel has broken.
Sure, if you can't follow the one and only simple rule that has been echoed since the dawn of time don't get a glass panel
Yeah ,I miss my plastic side panel
My dad's PC like 1980 has plexiglass side panel it's awesome.
Yep. Can't wait for the fishbowl to go out of style. Between the RGB crap and the broken panels with a choice to care more about aesthetics than cooling, the whole thing is just blah.
Happy I was able to find the Fractal Torrent with a hard metal side panel. If there was more competition for something like that, it would have been cheaper too.
Yeah my last two builds were in a Sliger sm580 and Fractal Era 2. Both have semi solid sides with air holes, my small form factor builds get better temps than a lot of my friends full ATX builds
On wood is insane
OP said it's tile.
TIL that tile that looks like wood is a thing
How do you smashed
Whoa. That's not a tile floor! How??
Oh but it is tile lol
Well... Greater ventilation, so it will be cooler for shaders or rendering
Don’t be surprised to find pieces in the cabinet even after 10 years.
At least it wasn’t tile this time
E: goddammit OP
Same happened to me in my previous work at service center. Was absolutely shocked how this shi just exploded in my hands. But did look cool, ngl.
glass doesn't belong on a PC case. I hate building for friends and needing to emphasize why glass is a lousy idea - but it's never hard to find examples.
There are 3 constants in the universe, death, taxes, and tempered glass side panels breaking
Wait where's the tile
After my second glass panel broke randomly on my desk I ordered and replaced the adhesive holding the metal brackets to the glass. Its crap and eventually the glass will fall off and smash.
Replace it with Perspex or Lexan!
Oopsie
It improved itself 👌 pc evolution
Add wd40 and throw rice at it

This is a rite of passage type thing
Many welps.
Handle it.
You are indeed a welp
You see all of those pieces of glass all over the ground, that’s not supposed to be like that. It’s supposed to be in one piece on the side of your case. Hope this helps.
Why does that happen so often in this sub, seriously
Welp, more like help
What is my computer doing in your house?
Idk why they still use glass and lights in the case. Who the hell is looking at their desktop?
kidney+liver down the drain
Yes, that's enough airflow...
im so srry man, this is always so annoying
Sorry to see that, as long as all the components are intact.
Well, at least you now have better airflow
Just seeing this make me want to move mine off the floor... it's the same one and I feel a Jinx on it's way.
Is that cerami?c tile
I have this office and the same thing happened to me. I think it's something with the engineering of this lid, somehow.
There are several posts from this specific office spread across reddit in the same situation.
Why do so many glass side panels break? I'm like genuinely scared of it happening
Haha
A serious question regarding all of these posts: What happens to those PCs? Do side panels burst without any external influence? Did OP drop the PC?
Not at all, it's from its contact with the ceramic floor tile you can see in EVERY picture of shattered tempered glass windows. In this case it's the floor tiles.
Oof. Heart breaks
You must be feeling……shattered!
I’ll see myself out….
That looks like the same case as mine, only my glass is intact.
How do you do this
Something something hard floor something something desktop
My husband and I both let out an audible “oh nooo” 😭 sorry bud, that sucks :(((
When will people learn that carpet is the only safe surface???
Never happened to me.....
That's the first time I see it not happening on a tile floor.
EDIT: Just read that it was laminate. Scratch one more for the tile floor.
Well your fault for using glass.
Why is there an unopened SATA cable in the mix??
That doesn't go there...
I really am questioning fucking how, how does this keep happening, i've had my pc for 4 years and nothing has happened yet, the fuck are you doing with your pc's
putting glass in them i guess
Coocked
Unless you buy a case without a stupid fucking giant piece of glass on it. I don't get it. You aren't buying the stupid thing to look at the fans.
So you just gently sit it on the floor and it shatters?
Have only had acrylic...
0 days without a PC glass break
Just when you thought it was safe to set your PC down on anything other than a pile of bubble wrap...
Ah welp. Major F. Corsair will probably replace it. They have a good support team.
Sorry to see that.
I wish they would at least use plastic. Not quite as clear or scratch resistant.... but not as brittle either.
or you know, metal.
What did bro do that the whole panel shattered like my future🙏🥀
Damn ceramic wood.
DUDE THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME!!! Same case I think too
I bet it's one of those tiles floors that is made to look like wood lol
Ceramic tile that looks like wood claims another life.
If your hardwood floors are too perfect and don't feel like wood, they're tile.
What did you do
The future stems from our present, and fractures and changes and we make mistakes and change…
Great airflow
Fortunately Corsair sells replacement side panels (including non glass) on their website
On wood? Or are those tiles that look like wood?
On the positive side, your airflow just went up.
im scared of the day this is going to happen to me
I think the best of us have learned from the billions of similar posts not to put their TG on tile.
Time to for cremation mate...
Where tile floor
Is tile floor.
But looks like wood
Correct.
Breh
"Now comes with enhanced air flow."
Damn on a Corsair 4000x too I just bought one of these and have fears this will be me, luckily you can get a replacement from their site for like 30$
So you're the best of us?
So sorry
This physically hurts me. I'm sorry OP.
Is that a IDE cable?
No just Sata
Now you have maximum airflow
So does this happen by just placing the PC on the tile? Or does the tile have to touch the glass(like graphite with car windows)?
Can someone explain the mechanism by which this happens?
Tempered glass is under incredible amounts of internal strain. When it experiences any micro abrasions (i.e. comes in contact with tile) it shatters from that point of failure.
Edit: wording
Welcome to the "forced extra ventilation" club
Oh damn ı feel so bad
More air more performance
Guilty of breaking tempered glass but didn’t bother posting it. I bought a mesh case.
Your PC is completely cooked bro. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it humanely.
(This is a joke)
Nice
This is why I only use steel cases.
I can hear a "Good job Lenny!" in the background.
The amount of work put to build the PC, only for the glass panel to break into pieces big L.
Same case, same scene setup...yup...happens to us all
But where's the tile?!?!?
That is tile.
Oh, looked like wood flooring.
very intriging
Better airflow bro. Turn them settings to ultra
So, how exactly did this happen?
I have my glass paneled pc on a wooden table and it seems fine to me.
Is this just OP hitting the pc or dropping a glass panel by mistake?
Im genuinely curious

Wow did someone finally edited it to '0' cause it used to be 'O'
Fucking finally someone uses the right one
This is always the first thing popped up on my head when I saw anything with glass side panel lol
at least this time it‘s not the classic tile floor xD
Came here solely to upvote this comment
At this point, this is always the most accurate image. I don't think that number would ever change from 0 lol
