Before Cosmic Fury was announced I thought Kiramager would be the next Sentai adapted because at one point the team talks about hypothetical Rangers with crystal powers
I think it's funny how Toei is specifically making shows that PR will never touch in their lives. Though ironically this one seems like one they would adapt along with the current running one.
Lol
They seem more thematically appropriate. You could even get returning rangers be part of the roster.
Would have been a good workaround for the whole “We’re afraid twelve new rangers wouldn’t get enough development between them” stuff. Six new rangers, six old rangers. Don’t have to worry about development, the old ones have their own seasons of development right there.
No, but a sort of follow up or link to Zeo, where their powers come from wherever the Zeo crystal originally came from could have been cool
YES! And the green ranger was a female and an athlete
I was also gonna have a team of “Copied” rangers, but in reality? The flashman suits
It should’ve been Kyuranger! Kills me we’ll never get to see those suits adapted
Why would a Kyuranger adaptation use the Kiramager suits?
Personally I'd like PR to actually commit to a fully original season at some point. Plus I WOULD NOT condone any costume that puts Izzy in a skirt.
agreed unless that's fern as green and Izzy's now yellow
So I guess when Ollie turns evil, Javi decides to become the blue ranger
and then Ollie comes back as silver
Wait, so aiyon becomes the red ranger?
No Aiyon rocks into battle with a pink skirt
Real men wear pink
Refusing to adapt a sentai over a skirt is wild.
They made kind of a big deal out of the fact that it would be totally out of character of Izzy to ever want to wear one.
I mean if its that serious she could grow to love skirts.. “character development”
I mean Billy went from glasses and overalls to contact lenses and tank tops.
Making the tomboy MORE feminine isn't character development.
So if you’re a tomboy in highschool you’re a tomboy forever? People dont change styles as they grow?
Growing to like something you originally didnt… is character development.
Not when the entire point of Izzy is that she's a proud tomboy and lesbian, the first character of her kind in the entire franchise. Making the first gay ranger be more stereotypically feminine would send a message and NOT a good one.
Isn't being a tomboy lesbian also a stereotype?
I see where you're coming from and I agree with your sentiment. It feels a little icky for the first lesbian representation we get in the show happens to fill an existing stereotype. However, whether they're a stereotype or not, tomboy lesbians exist. So at the end of the day, it still counts as representation.
I honestly kid shows have always sucked at having good representation without falling into a dumb stereotype
Izzy and Fern weren’t the only issue in Power Rangers either
Look at the stereotypes they chose to use for the Male couple in Once and Always, that was disappointing
Gay Males can be masculine and Gay Females can be feminine, yet shows prefer to portray the opposite
Yes, everything is a stereotype on television to a certain point but one is more entrenched in societal expectations and more damaging to a young audience.
Sexuality isnt defined by clothes. Are you saying Lesbians must wear masculine clothes? Totally not a stereotype…
No, in the real world. But Izzy is the first Lesbian in PR history and making her fit MORE into the tiny box women are allowed to exist in for a sake of sentai footage isn't worth it, OR the lesson it would impart to girls in the audience.
You’re talking about putting her in a box yet you’re limiting her to liking one thing..
A skirt doesnt make her any less gay lol.
I agree, but my wife was a tomboy until she turned 22 and became an MP. Something about that made her embrace her feminine (and break up with me for a 15months).
That's nice, but your wife is a real person, Izzy is the first lesbian in the franchise. THere's differences here.
She is?!
I thought there was one in Lost Galaxy? Or did we make that up as kids?
HA, god that would have been GREAT just to rub it in the culture's face. But no, Izzy is the first gay ranger (in the TV series)
Just confirmed with my wife... we made it up to help a friend. My mind is legit blown. I thought there was a whole episode about it.
Oh my.
True and also dumb to not adapt a sentai cause they have cops vs robbers. When a season was literally police
If they did, they could include multiple instances where she tries to remove the skirt
But for the Sentai footage she'd have to end up "accepting" to wear it, which is fucking unaccaptable to her character
That’s true.
Nah. Too sentai. Doesn't look like Billy made them and kept the dinosaur motif. I also like that the Morphin' Grid leveled up the Pink Ranger to Red Ranger. Sentai Costumes limit this.
See also: I like that they do the bit (again) where they're stranded without powers (except for Billy) and there are bug monster. Those parts of the Power Rangers Movies and show are always an interesting opportunity.
The hell does "too Sentai" mean? The Cosmic Fury suits are just straight up shit and should've at least embraced Sentai more lol
The big square belts, big boot & glove straps with the bandoleras and shoulder things. Also the shinny. Very Japanese Super Hero from the 1960s and 1970s.
Pinks helmet looks like super Megaforce. Blue looks like SPD. And green looks like the alien ranger
They don't really fit a space theme at all.
At least with the dinosaur helmets, they're just keeping something they already had. It would be a bit odd to go out of their way to change suits for a space adventure, and the suits have a literal street sashed over their chest lol.
I would absolutely love for Kiramager to get an adaptation, but Cosmic Fury wasn't the time for it.
I could see as a spiritual sequel season to Zeo and Turbo.
Good point
No
No. I’m perfectly happy with the suits we got in cosmic fury, which Ik isn’t the consensus, but I enjoy them and think they’re a cool evolution of the Dino fury suits.
No. Even though those are great skirts
2 problems:
Greens got a skirt. Doesn't work for Izzys character.
And with Ollie needing to be written out due to actor unavailability, and presumably still going evil, and Zayto still being dead, they would have had to edit the crap out of the footage (to remove rangers beyound the 4 they want to use) and make some intresting casting decisions.
Izzy being green is the only thing that doesn't require a rewrite. Although again moving her to a different color does fix the skirt thing. But to keep this short lets assume she's green.
Assuming Zayto is still going to be the 6th ranger, and therefore the silver ranger, how does everyone else's powers work?
Amelia red, Aiylon yellow, Javi blue, and Fern pink? Amd Ollie gets to be a 6th when he come back?
Or if they want to keep the blue ranger spot for Ollie for his redemption, that would mean someone else gets booted.
Say its fern (obvious choice), So Amelia stays pink, and either Javi or Aiylon becomes a non leader Red?
There's no real way to tell the story they wanted to tell with Ollie, Zayto and Amelia with these costumes
Big agree
No they should’ve used the suits form sentai cosmic was based on
No
Maybe the helmets, with the cosmic fury suits.
No, everyone would complain about these suits being wasted on the team/season, same for Kyuranger already with their mecha (and probably would be the same if they used their suits too)
They would have to use original footage on just Izzy alone. All to make sure she’s not in a skirt.
Originally they were going to appear in one episode of cosmic fury where the rangers go to another planet and bump into these rangers. The casting director even went out to call around to be ready to cast voice only role actors for these ranger rolls but ultimately they decided to cut out the episode
The suits would've made morse sense and definitely looked better
Nope. I really like the Kiramager suit design, but I'd they were the only thing taken from the series, but still had everything else from Cosmic Fury, it wouldn't fit well.
This would work better for a Kiramager adaptation if Hasbro stuck around longer than it should have.
That Silver/Orange suit goes REAL hard. 🔥
I wouldn't have mind the Kiramager suits because the suits would have definitely fit the cosmic theme but you could also say that about the Kyuuranger suits. But then you would run into the whole why is this person this color now. At the end of the day I don't mind that they just created original suits and just used mech footage from Kyuuranger. I feel like Power Rangers should have a "What If..." comic book for all these what if questions the fandom has. I definitely read it.
i just think cosmic fury should have done at least something for the helmets to be difrent from dino fury, give a stripe, just something
Literally anything would've been better than what we got.
As opposed to it being its own installment into the franchise? Like I kind of don’t get the idea of cosmic fury should’ve used other suits…cuz like because they didn’t, you can still get full traditional adaptations of those suits versus what was essentially a 9 episode miniseries
No, cosmic fury should’ve used the kyuranger suits
I miss Sentai adaptations.
It would mean no female red
A man being inside the suit in Japan was never a problem for having a woman in Power Rangers
Still not convenient, plus there’s quite a few color changes
Why do ppl always act like Amelia is the only female red ranger?
No.
Helmets are cool but the suits are awful imo.
Not sure if it should have been that season but it’s a shame these suits never got used.
Agreed. The one major problem with any adaptation of Kiramager (the season these suits come from), is that the MOTW’s are incredibly barebones, with the only features being different heads. This also translates into the giant monsters, as Kiramager does an SPD and have a small monster paired up with a giant monster instead of the small one being grown.
I can see that being an issue but they went and basically used all American footage for CF either way, surely importing these for use in the states would have been cheaper than making new suits?
I mean it would, but the monsters were literally guys in capes with object heads. Here’s an example.

Ultimately they were more comedic monsters but there is not much to work with at base.
I get it but that kind of slaps too!
But i also like SS (didn’t watch Kiramiger) so I might be the wrong person to judge
Upper-Midwest states would make an amazing statement. You couldn’t touch on a lot of tribal issues, human trafficking and drug issues. The likely hood of seeing over 1/3 of the nations small town hospitals closing, could create a great opportunity for translating societal woes.
Are you a bot?
Dead ass no💀 I was commenting on a squid game in the United States post, and something happened to end up here! My sincere apologies for a derp moment.
Lmao it’s okay i was confused
Sounds like an opportunity to use these costumes as a way to resurrect the zords that came with them if they ever bring Power Rangers back.
Like when the new ranger team needs new stuff to fight a threat, finding the Cosmic Morphers is a free quest they can go on for that. If they're worthy or something, it probably resurrects the Cosmic Zords in the process. Because.
I could see the MotW design issue being valid in a hypothetical Cosmic Fury that used Kiramager, but if Kiramager were allowed to be adapted to its own thing, than the lore of the season could be structured to be its own thing, instead of having to be built on the foundation of being a Dino Fury follow-up
