Anyone feel like this could have been a more explored storyline

Anyone feel like this could have been a more explored storyline

Let me explain for those who either don’t know, aren’t caught up with or in case they need a memory refresher. These are the power eggs introduced in MMPR season 1 episode 7. The Power Eggs were two powerful egg-like artifacts sought by Rita. Millions of years ago, ancient sorcerers who called themselves the "Morphing Masters" set the Power Eggs' chest out to sea. They were found in a chamber guarded by a magical barrier that only an innocent child could penetrate. In the course of the Power Rangers preventing Rita from getting the eggs, they were knocked into the ocean, and have not been mentioned since. In my opinion I feel like there was wasted potential here. I feel like this could’ve been explored more. It seemed maybe they were setting up these power eggs to have a powerful source of energy that could give the rangers new strengths only for them to not be utilized more. What do you guys think? Do you think this plot line could’ve been explored more?

It’s just early instalment oddities. They weren’t looking to develop over-arching plots back then, just trying to use the footage in the best way possible.

If you go by how Dino Charge creates zords though, you could maybe have these be the sources of Zords at some point.

Ironic though when the eggs appeared multiple times in Sentai, but only once in Power Rangers

Yeah but even the sentai didn’t do much with it. They were just hope for the future. The eggs were in danger but when they finally hatched, the left them with kids to take care of the baby dinosaurs.

PR did the right thing to let them just be something that exists.

Dino charge takes place in a different universe so I don think so.

The morphing grid extends across all universes so its not crazy for it to be possible in the main universe too.

Pretty sure it’s in the main universe.

It is 100% in a separate universe/dimension. Ninja Steel confirms it at leaat twice.

It’s not actually look it up on the official power rangers wiki. I don’t know if you have seen the dimensions in danger crossover but it confirmed Dino charge takes place in a seperate universe.

Its not an official wiki and the Power Ranger wiki is wrong like…all the fucking time.

But yes Dino Charge takes place in its own universe

Okay no need for the language. But good that you know.

Language is fine. 85%+ of Reddit users are adults. As far as children go they hear much worse on a daily basis at school.

Oh cool, my bad.

They weren’t setting up anything. Judd Lynn even said in the early days there was no desire for overarching storylines unless the Japanese footage forced them to (see the Green Rangers)

The very early pre-Tommy MMPR episodes were really bad about using as much Zyuranger footage as they could even when they shouldn’t. This was the only episode they could really use them for after that they were almost always with the unmorphed Zyurangers or Japanese children

I believe they did bring this up in the comics. So at least it wasn’t completely wasted.

It was explored more in the comics but it mostly boiled down to being a really powerful energy source they needed at the time.

Didn't also change the timeline? Pretty sure it erased Grace Sterling and coinless Trini

I need to reread that arc, from what I remember Grace died and was like a ghost helping Billy from within the Morphin Grid. As for Coinless Trini, she was with the remaining rangers fighting Dark Specter.

It was used as a battery to create a barrier for earth and then to create another shattered grid effect. But the last arc create pretty much left a lot of loose ends which made the comic ending 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ohh yeah that was it! 😃 and if coinless trinity and grace Sterling we're erased, so much stuff must have happed s different? Like in beyond the grid, wasn't Terra Venture something Grace gad originally created?

Could say the same for the crystal eyes in jungle fury 5 of them were never turned into monsters

It‘s a shame those 5 crystal eyes had gone to waste.

Considering how sporadically they appear in Zyuranger, I'm not really sure what could be done with them. They're repeatedly lost at sea and gone for episodes at a time, until they finally have King Brachion (Titanus) store them in his body to keep them warm until they hatch into puppets that make Tommy's version of the Dragon Shield look expensive in comparison.

If anyone is curious, these are the dinosaur puppets

I spoke to you about this in a PM to become extra Zords. Lol.

I wasn't a fan of this plot in Zyuranger so I'm glad it didn't carry over to PR.

In the sentai the eggs were found by a couple kids and they had actual dinosaurs in them. They were supposed to bring all dinosaurs back to life in the world and back from extinction.

The funny thing is, in Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, the eggs actually are involved in a subplot about the Zyurangers desiring to protect the last living Dinosaur eggs. I guess the MMPR writers either couldn't figure a way to integrate them into MMPR, or just didn't want to.

Back then? Everything could have been explored more but it couldn’t because sentai footage.

My headcanon is they're unhatched Zords and that the Dinozords were born from a fusion of ancient magic and Eltarian tech.

I would have preferred they just not used them at all. Unless they got the actual props and could make a completely unique storyline. I feel like majority of usable footage was used up

Your gonna monkey paw the next season to have the rangers travel to find the power eggs thay give them their new powers
