It’s a shame that the zap line fill apart like it did. That Concept Megazord and White Tigerzord would have been instant sell outs (if made with quality).
I will forever be grateful that zap got to the astro megazord.
Very confused by the suit and Megazord designs. Alpha I totally get. But why design mechs for things they were going to use Japanese footage for anyways?
They didn’t know what they were going to do at the time. The zord sketches are from a time between S1 and S2 when they were debating about whether to just use the Dairanger footage (which they ended up doing), or give the rangers new American exclusive upgraded Dinozords, which the white tiger would have combined with when Tommy came back.
That drill attack would have been so cool! I'm betting that's how the finisher for the Thundersaurus Megazord in Dino Thunder was created. Also the Pterodactyl being a bow would have been nice, too! Fits both the Pink Ranger's weapon and also gives it another use outside of the chestplate.
Those alt megazords go hard. Does power rangers have a 3rd party toy scene like transformers? Someone has got to make them.
Oh man.
That megazord design looks gorgeous.
nice 👍
I wish Saban wasn't so cheap and for 1. actually paid the actors and crew what they deserved and 2. paid for these exclusive Zords.
This is the big bad of an anime lol how terrifying
This can’t be real, the suits and zords are from the 80’s show from Japan so “concepts” would cost money which saban had no intention of spending.
You spend money to make money. If it yields higher earning you do it, but if it eats too much of your capital then it's easier to fall back and do the same thing you were already doing. In this case power rangers was already hitting it's peak and beginning it's decline.
No. Saban came up with the idea of using the Japanese clips to save money. No way would he even have considered making new suits or building new zords. Saban was cheap af.
Where exactly do you think that mockup came from?! That's not something independent, that's from the show.
Not the 90’s American version. Maybe the 80’s Japanese version.
It was 1992, and the concept art for the mecha clearly includes notes written in Japanese. Because if Saban Entertainment was going to ask for new footage, which it already did for Zyu2, then it needed to come from Toei. The only X-factor would be if Bandai was also on board to make the toys.
The zord design is so much better than what we got.
Those were what Toei were willing to make for Saban to continue the Dino theme with “Dino Thunder zords”.
Saban didn’t want to spend the money on new zord costumes and footage.
