Theoretically, I guess? But the much more likely answer is that it's just a random prototype helmet from Alphabet Soup's Ranger development program, and they re-used the prop because they had it. You can see it's been modified like the Power Rangers in Space helmets used for the A-Squad in S.P.D.
True, but, once the helmet was shown, there a possible link that to prove a Mack android even existed in the RPM universe, including a human Andrew Hartford and Spencer. Also they also reused the SPD transitions in RPM.
Notice the text on the helmet "Prot" I'm going to assume the rest of it spells out "Prototype,"
Yeah, it's an alphabet soup prototype
That's correct, a prototype helmet.
It's worth mentioning that Mack wasn't even originally supposed to be a Ranger, his rich dad was.
So if we assume the Overdrive rangers existed in this universe, it's possible Andrew Hartford was the red instead of an android.
But as others have said, it's more likely just an Alphabet Soup prototype.
Yeah that is something others tend to overlook that Mack wasn’t intended to be the red ranger for the overdrive team, Andrew was going to take on the role. However stuff happened that stopped him and Mack took on the role of red ranger.
True.
It's mire likely Hartford Industries existed in the RPM universe and could've funded Alphabet Soup's Ranger program. The overdrive design would've been the prototype that led to the finished ranger program.
The real reason is production just needed a prop and that was Ying around. There's always a necessary suspension of disbelief for Power Rangers.
Honestly i don't like the idea that a group of rangers was here during Venjix apocalypse, especially one we have see in the main universe, because this mean the worst for them.
You make a good point.
I agree.
No
So it's a prototype, right?
I do find it kind of funny that when chosing a helmet to imply there was at least one other ranger team around and they got murked by Venjix they went with the team from what was thought of as the worst season, like I think even back then OO didn't have the best reputation.
I mean it was always my interpretation that the RPM universe had a split when the virus was released and up to that point they were similar if not the same if something suggested otherwise andbi missed it feel free to correct me but that was always how I thought about it
It’s not a hard stretch that each Ranger from any team aren’t dead. Why you ask? Tommy, Jason, and Zack out of the original 6 MMRP Rangers (Tommy being the original Green and White Ranger) while Rocky and Adam all came back in different seasons after the Turbo finale. Jason as the original Gold and original Red with Tommy as Zeo Red in Forever Red, Tommy to double up with the Black Ranger and to gain the Master Morpher, Rocky as Red and Adam as Black, and Zack as Black in different seasons when that team needed outside
My headcanon is that mack's father used a prototype of the red ranger suit and fought venjix army until his death
RPM originally was set in the same timeline till samurai retconned it
It’s probably because they had the helmet just lying around so they decided to use it, kind of like how SPD reused the in Space and TimeForce suits
I had never even thought of the idea Mack was a robot in context with this cameo
Could be that part of what RPM's world down the wrong path is that Hartford ended up forming Alphabet Soup rather than keeping his empathy, perhaps with other twists in the timeline like the Lightspeed Rangers actually getting replaced.
Well, Mack was a robot in the main Power Rangers timeline. And became human in the finale.
That's what I mean, what if, in this timeline, Hartford just doesn't really have a heart. Creates his own robot Rangers, founds Alphabet soup, just things going more and more off the rails in regards to AI until everything bubbles over.
Would explain how Venjix managed to build such a massive and powerful army in such little time. He already had mostly everything set up for him.
I always imagined Venjix's takeover of Earth was like Ultron from Marvel. Sure, you can destroy a body or two but it always sinks back into cyberspace while it takes over new manufacturing sectors to improve on the previous version.
Even a Spencer who works at Alphabet Soup.
