TIL in GTA V when Trevor gave Franklin's aunt $7 and told her to get something nice, not expensive, she went to go see Superman 12 years later
“Notice how she didn’t watch man of steel or a single Zack Snyder film “
I said something NICE not something EXPENSIVE
This implies that the Superman movie is nice.
Somebody call the Squad
The Justice Gang
Gunn should be pissed and ready to sue internally
He should get some sort of sue inside squad ideally
Say that again
Sue Internally, the Invisible Woman!
I looked at the page, apparently it came from Colombia, tomorrow?
Maybe some Colombian movie theater owner pre-paid a ticket for his kid and logged it
We had a pre-release yesterday, and movies usually come out a day before the rest of the world here for some reason
Come to think of it, I watched The Batman 2 whole days before most of the world, cool stuff
I watched The Batman 2
Wow you already got to see it, I thought Matt Reeves just submitted the script
Same in Puerto Rico. Plus, you don't need a passport. New movies always start Thursday for some reason.
Movies start Thursday everywhere, that’s not unique to Puerto Rico
Hi, I am from Colombia. The movie is in theaters since Tuesday at late night and it was labeled as "pre-premiere".
Given that 1 USD is roughly 4000 Colombian Pesos, how much would one ticket be and how many people would have seen it?
On wensdays and tuesdays tickets are half-price, that means 2 to 3 usd per ticket (7000-12000) aprox. When I checked a cinema website on tuesday there were only one screening per cinema at late night, I asume this happened as well in all the other cinemas but I din't check. It is also possible that tickets were sold out in the most popular theatres since most people go to the movies on wensday and tuesdays bc of the discount but people don't seem interested ins superheros that much since the last avengers movie. It is funny bc for example it was extremely easy to get tickets for Dedpool and Wolverine and Spiderman no way home but it was kinda hard to get tickets for Kinds of Kindness or Longlegs.
Tbh I think Superman is gonna flop here and everywhere. The break even point is 3/4 to 1 billion and now people prefer to stay at home and stream a movie that go to cinema and spend money to watch a superhero movie with the same generic story for the 100th time.
Fucking companies are completly blinded by greed to see that people, even casual consumers, prefer to spend money in a new movie that seems interesting (Longlegs, Sinners) and not in a generic reboot, precuel, secuel or remake of a popular ip.
7 Edit:wait it’s real?!
It’s almost at 14 noe
That was me sorry
How dare you
this is what Wikipedia says, but it's a glitch on Box Office Mojo, that it says $7 for some reason.
$7 whole dollars?
That's the highest opening of all time. What are you talking about?
beats Avatar by 1 whole dollar!
Damn. I remember when Titanic made 3 whole dollars. James Cameron is slipping!
whole $7 super dollars
!remindme 1 month
This is gonna be so funny if if ages well
I don't even have 7$
Movie is richer than me.
Well technically the movie is in debt by $254,999,993
I meant what I said !!!
They'll make up the difference in DVD sales.
And don't forget the merchandising

Holy shit it’s still there 😅
Stop the count!
Just saw it, fun movie
"We're hoping to make an eighth dollar over the holiday weekend."
That poster reminds me of the old superman movie ones
I'm sure that's the image they were trying to evoke. I immediately thought the same thing.
You just know some Snydercultist will save this image and post it online saying “SeE See, I waS RiGhT. Snyder is king!” Or some shit like that.
So your saying this film is da bomb
Wasn't there a multimillion dollar movie that had a box office of 156 dollars once?
It doesn't hit wide release until Thursday in most markets. Won't really have any competition until July 25.
And here I am high trying to find the meta reference about Superman being a walking kryptonite bomb.
My favorite implication of this is one person just like saw a matinee somehow.
James Gunn literally made a movie for himself for himself to see by himself.
Why do I get the feeling that 99% of you didn't even see it to shit on it properly and are mostly talking out of your ass
$7
It was me, I paid the $7. AMA
Sweet, that means I get to have the whole cinema for myself tomorrow.
I'm going to take my son next week! We'll get those numbers up!
Loch Ness monster saw it twice?
Wow, someone finally beat Zyzzyx Road (2006, Box Office: $30) at a losing contest
How do you know? It hasn't even come out yet
Look more closely at the image
Woops the bottom part was cut off when originally clicked on it my bad 😂
Na, people will love it, its simply the internet and social media trying to be shitbags and ruin something some Karens and Richards have (_)_)|||||||||||||D about.
I'm going to watch it after work today, in 3D. It's gonna be more than $7 after I'm done.
Lex Luthor: That's right, conspiracy buff, I spent 7 dollars on a fake movie just to pass superman off.
Wait this movie came out?
I can already sense the Snyder Cult's smugness
If only there was an actor that perfectly encapsulated superman that the public had already agreed was the one for the role…
I agree, Brandon Routh was a great Superman
There’s a new Superman?
Ill be watching it but not for $21.50 here in New Zealand. Ill be visiting me ol mate 1337 in a week or 2 when they have a decent copy.
Havent seen a movie pushed this hard on reddit since the last fast and the furious marketing campaign.
It's fuckin superman one of the top 3 superheroes of all time
People were going to talk about it no matter what
I haven't seen the movie and don't know much about it but that's poster is ass.
I am so sick of superhero films. Get another idea...
Every action sequence in the trailer is computer generated people fighting. There are no real stunts. It feels like i’m watching Looney Tunes.
They tried to breed humans that could fly but it lacks funding to make real progress.
Insult to Looney Tunes. I love them. That trailer was one of the worst fucking things I've ever seen. I have less than zero desire to see this shit movie
Sure we believe you...
go superwoke, go superbroke
Bring Zak Snyder back
He's busy banging your mom, Trebek
I mean honestly one of the worst movie trailers I've ever seen. Honestly thought it was a spoof trailer at first. Can't believe they actually made this movie. Guaranteed bomb.
Delusional
Hopefully it'll be a bigger flop than I expect it to be
A+ work
Quick question, what's it like being so miserable you actively root for a movie to fail, instead of being a normal person and just not watching it then moving on with your life?
Tbf, Im pretty sure everyone's tired of everything being a superhero movie or some sort of rehashed IP. We need some fresh ideas from hollywood for sure.
It does look like a fairly cool kids movie though and I dont see a reason not to let 9-12 year olds have fun.
We need some fresh ideas from hollywood for sure.
There are fuck loads of original films that come out but people like you don't go and see them otherwise you would know they existed.
Not really sure how you know what I have and havent seen. Im not saying theres no original ideas. But the last couple of years have been lacking a bit.
Bring Her Back literally just came out
I know because of your comment. A metric fuck tonne of original films have come out in the last couple of years. People dont go and see them and then complain there are no original films. You're one of them.
Speak for yourself. I'm tired of BAD superhero movies. If they can keep making ones like this keep them coming.
I mean its for kids so I cant speak since Im not in the target demo but Im sure its not a bad distraction for them to keep them busy for 2 hours
Aren't you a little pretentious.
Superhero movies, like any other movie, can have mature themes. Not only that, kid movies can have mature themes that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. To treat kid movies as if they can only be mere distractions is, by itself, extremely childish.
Nothing wrong with a good kids movie once in a while. Im sure everyone has watched and enjoyed peewees big adventure every now and then as an adult. But theres been a major superhero movie shoved down everyones throats every 3-6 months these days.
These used to be semi-special. Youd get one or two every couple of years. Now its like 85% of the box office revenue in hollywood. Its rather sad and annoying. Hell, the kids even deserve better.
Anytime someone starts with "Quick question" I know it's a loaded question. Grow a pair and ask questions, or insult directly. These submissive tactics don't work.
But why
That's just fucking pathetic.
Let's wait until we have some numbers
I have never enjoyed a james gunn movie in my life, but I dont want any property with big Supes in it to flop.
The real shock is a movie ticket these days was only $7.
Student discount.
Sunday matinée
Love a cheap manatee.
A yo mom-atee
I have been described before as a cheap manatee, thank you for the well wishes
Everyone deserves love!
...well, most people.
Not me if I'm being honest
"One, please. Uhh... student?"
"Are you kidding?"
"Pain in the ass!"
Ah, yes ... Hedy Lamarr.
It's Hedley....
That’s better than the military discount!
Stack that discount with the senior discount
Senior discount*
said $7 were from colombia, dont know if thats cheap or not but where i'm from ill be watching it for $2.5-4
Yea same here. With $7 im already Watching it on imax with aditional box of popcorn
i was doing mental calculation,
yeah, in Indonesia $7 you get the premium ticket where you get a double bed for a seat.
theater near me has 5 dollars tuesdays, watched 28 days later yesterday
Years? Or is it a re-screening of the old one?
yeah meant years
They charged you $5 to see a movie made 28 years ago? What a scam
It's nicer in some ways to watch a movie on the big screen, so it's not necessarily a scam, though how they move the big screen around to handle all the theatergoers in the US is a bit of a mystery to me.
Movie ticket: $7
Convenience fee: $9
Popcorn: $1 per kernel
thats the price of tickets near me on discount tuseday showtimes
It's $3 if I go early in my country
What? We had a power outage and took the kids to How to Train Your Dragon and it was $8/ticket during prime time, non-matinee.
We live in Michigan.
I went last night to watch Superman on an Onyx screen, $6 per ticket and we thought it was expensive lol
Here in Colombia we try to buy tickets for matinee every weekend and it is like $1.50 per ticket, doesn't matter if it's 2D, 3D or IMAX
Chapinero?
Theaters in my area charge $7 for tickets on Tuesdays
Head in the parking lot discount
I live in a small Colorado town where our local movie theater only has 3 theater rooms, and on most days a normal ticket is $11, but on Wednesdays all tickets are only $5. I didn’t truly appreciate these prices until I went off to college in Denver and had to pay $18 for a ticket at the nearby Regal
I went, I'm sorry
That was just a fountain soda. No one actually saw the movie.
My theater has tickets for $6, its a little out of the way compared to the closest theater but it's worth it, nicer theater, better food options, a bar (not my thing though), better seats, recliners, etc. its perfect.
