No offense, even if he is good paying that much money while the goal isn't beyond winning the league (Where the league money isn't that great either) isn't a good decision especially if there is no guarantee it won't create imbalance for club's financial in future.

What did these reports say exactly? We are known for having super incentives based salaries, it's possible he hit the incentives this season with the league win, while his base is the reported 55k.
It is possible, but that would be a wild bonus. It'd be nearly £5 million for a single-year incentive. That seems a bit crazy for a player of his caliber, but I guess it could be possible, especially if he had such a low weekly salary without.

I don't see his salary being 65% incentives. That seems far too high. I could definitely see his salary being 1/3 incentives, however. I'm also not sure what he was making at Porto, but he would've gotten a substantial raise when he signed for us. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't think he was making like £25k/week at Porto. Generally, our new signings have all come in at high salaries as well, though they aren't all the type of signing that Diaz was (under the radar, kept under wraps, not a star player or established name in world football).

I don’t know how you reach that conclusion. He goes in and out of form constantly, start of last season he was having a belter, then by December-january he couldn’t dribble past a wheelchair bound turtle, then he regained form and dropped off again. It’s been like this every season.
