To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow only one submission about each transfer saga per day. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report.

If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates.

The lawyer will always highlight the risk, it's what they are paid for. And they know people are going to call for their head if things go bad 1 year into the contract.

If they go into the season with Gyo going home to see family like Tevez did - it will be exceedingly embarrassing and costly. Meanwhile, Arsenal don’t have much to lose. They can always sign a different striker they like similarly much.

What’s the difference between “+5+10” and normal add ons?

Essentially:

Normal add-ons that are one lump sum don't include multiple different clauses to triggering them.

The "+5+10" bit is like this:

+5 - add-ons that are easy to trigger. Something like total number of apperances needed to trigger that clause.

+10 - harder add-ons. Needing something like scoring a certain amount of goals, winning trophies or something like that to trigger them

Edit: people keep bringing up the fact that a number was never part of the agreement but thats not the point. Agreeing to do anything without getting that in writing is idiotic. If its true that Sporting agreed to letting him go under the release clause thats still a gentlements agreement that the agent should have gotten in writing

There never was any agreement, it's all bullshit made up by his agent. The only thing Sporting agreed to, was to not charge the full release clause at 100 million due to his age but never specified a number. The whole 60 million was made up by the agent to force a move

Thats fine but Regardless of whether there was a number or not, its wildly stupid and naive to not get something explicit in writing. Varandas said there was no 60M+10M€ agreement. Only that he promised that he would not require the 100M€ release clause, because "no 27 year old leaves the Primeira Liga for 100M€"

The whole "gentleman agreement" is likely a agent invention. He claims to have evidence, but so far as shown nothing.

You do realise what a gentleman’s agreement is right?

NeroRomanusAugustus

Yes. That's not what's in question here.

The agent has claimed a GA that would see a 60M€+10M€ be accepted.

Later he changed it, claiming that there is a written agreement.

Varandas has denied it and clarified what was agreed.

We let you get Ashley Cole over £5k a week, this can certainly fall through over €5m

can't we just offer €70M fixed + €0M? JK but it would be funny if it was that simple

I think Sporting wants "add-ons" as easy as Chelsea getting paid for Hazard transfer when Madrid won the 24 CL even while Hazard had retired, whereas Arsenal has gone the extreme opposite with a B'Dor, UCL or something.

Saying win the CL is an easy add on is bizarre, even if it is regarding Real Madrid

I said that in a manner of how ridiculous the overall payment to Chelsea has been, not saying a clause of Madrid winning the CL is easy money.

Phrased it poorly, my bad.

I get how you meant it, still bizarre

Mate just pay up for the sake of not having to read about it anymore pls. World class striker for £70m-£80m, I’d bite their hands off.

They’ve probably inserted a winning the premier league bonus that sporting don’t believe in.

Leipzig wants 90M€-100M€.

It's basically a fuck-off price.

Not seeing Arsenal spend that unless they are willing to drop they desire to sign an LW to upgrade on Martinelli and an RW to be a back-up to Saka.

RBL have priced him out, forcing Arsenal to go for the better option lol

It’s a short distance and there is still enough time seeing that the transfer market won’t shut for like another two months. It will just be a matter of patience if Arsenally really want him, they’ll get him
