He never played for England at youth level. That's because he simply does not identify as English, despite being born in England. He wanted to play for France; the ship had sailed.

His surgery was in Murnau, that's like an hour from Munich by car. There are many areas in Bavaria / Munich which look like this. Perfect mixture of a big city and still a lot of room and untouched nature. Some Bayern players also own a house at Tegernsee, for example, which is also a nice place
