Not trying to discredit Hakimi by any means, but the assertion was top 5 Ballon d'Or. There are 11 positions, some of the best in their position get left out. Vitinha has been consistent, dictates play, and had incredibly clutch moments. Both probably are top 10, I believe Vitinha to be more worthy of top 5.

That side was waiting to step up after half a season under Enrique getting used to his tactics. They were already looking like a different side before Kvara came in January. It just made sure they can bring on Barcola off the bench instead of starting him and allowing more tactical flexibility.
What the other guy said, we were just waiting for unlocking and of course kvara is immense with his backtracking run. To me, his most important quality beside that one is that beyond being a goal scoring threat, he's also very selfless in front of the goal...and with our other 2 frontmen then yeah, that hurts.
But imo, unsung heroes such as ruiz/pacho (and marqui) are above in term of team cohesiveness. We could play barcola instead of him too and it'd work.

Dembele is obviously the favourite and Yamal will likely finish 2nd but why have Raphinha, Salah, Pedri, etc who've all had excellent seasons suddenly been pushed to the side for Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Hakimi when they weren't even in the conversation for the award in April and I don't think an overglorified friendly (Nations League) and the CWC is enough to override how good several other players were from August - April
Don't get me wrong they've all had fantastic seasons and certainly deserve to be nominated however if PSG didn't win the Champions League none of them would be in a conversation for Top 10, let alone Top 5. I remember when the Ballon d'Or was about who was the best player in the world and trophies despite being part of the criteria weren't really considered the deciding factor

No, that's because people will always look at goalscorers as natural candidates first. To be even included in the conversation, a DM or a defender has to be extremely stellar.

Best player doesn't necessarily mean best attacker. That's the actual bias. If you'd followed PSG, you'd know that Hakimi has been the team's best player for the last 2 seasons, so if you consider that Dembélé is a contender, Hakimi has to be on that list as well.
