  • I've told Real Madrid fans multiple times here that Ancelotti was an amazing manager and that they were absolutely brain rotten for blaming him for every single bad result. You don't win 2 UCLs in 3 years with "no tactics", and if you ever said that Ancelotti had no tactics, please refrain from ever talking about football for a good 10 years until you acquire the necessary knowledge.

  • The Mbappe experiment has also been a clear failure. Real went from a successful, title competing club, to having all of the same problems that Mbappe-led PSG had. Turns out that scoring a lot of goals does not mean that you improve or make your team more competitive, because a myriad of other factors influence that.

  • And at last, it's very clear how much the old CWC format made South American teams look worse. Atlético and Real Madrid just showed everyone how facing the current in-form UCL winner right after their apex can make super-rich clubs with extremely stacked squads look bad.

OddFirefighter3
:Real_Madrid:

This is just a crazy take. Do you honestly think that if Madrid didn't sign Mbappe but stayed with Joselu at the main striker, they would have won titles last season?? Or do you think if Perez didn't sign Mbappe, he would have spent that money on good defenders??

It's clear you haven't watched madrid games and are just regurgitating stuff you read online.

FYI the problems with the current squad have nothing to do with Mbappe. Injuries to defenders, failing to replace Kroos and Perez refusing to sign great defenders are the reasons we are struggling.

SilverCurrent2041
:FC_Barcelona:

Mbappe isn’t the main issue here, but he is part of it. Like you said, not replacing Kroos and Perez being an idiot are all parts of it, but Mbappe not tracking back and defending is part of it too. I remember watching a video of Enrique trying to teach Mbappe that he needs to defend as well as attack. Looks like he learned nothing. Add in the giant ego of Vini and Mbappe and Mbappe clearly playing out of position, and you’ve got the current situation.

FUThead2016
:Manchester_United:

Absolutely agree with you. Real Madrid would have been world beaters for multiple seasons if they had not hired Mbappe and continued with Ancelotti. Now they have destroyed the team's cohesion, and Xabi Alonso will soon be in a rebuild phase.

I am even more happy that PSG without Mbappe is thrashing Madrid with Mbappe. Their fans are so arrogant, they turned on Ancelotti after one somewhat bad season. Absolutely pathetic entitled clowns.

ModelMancer

Xabi Alonso will soon be in a rebuild phase

That’s not going to happen. I think he’d be sacked for even suggesting it. Madrid are not letting go of any of Mbappe, Vini, Bellingham and now Trent. And changing every other player will fix nothing.

The only way he could even potentially make it work without being majorly lopsided is playing vini and mbappe on the left, bellingham basically false 9, ? and Trent on the right wings in possession then out of possession they’d need trent to drop to a back 4 - because Vini is not dropping deep - but then that is lop sided leaving mbappe and vini on the left out of possession.

Everyone knew this would happen. Everyone theorised how will it work. It just doesn’t.

Any Real Madrid fan who was saying Ancelloti out, apologise now. It’s not the coaches fault that Perez is an idiot more obsessed with the biggest attackers and said fuck it, we ball when it came to defenders.

As I said in the PSG thread, I really enjoyed this.

One thing that I noticed immediately was that Madrid having Militao back on the field made a big difference. Also, Brahim Diaz, I like him. He was a tricky player. I used to think Tchouaméni was good, but he does not impress me.

Other than that, it was a butt whipping.

You can blame Asensio and Rudiger for those mistakes but they don't happen without Dembele's intense pressing. He pressed in both and led to goals

Just insane pressing. Mbappe and Vini need to look at videos of Dembele.

If not, he has serious trouble because both can't play together if they won't do the work

If he wanted to send a message he picked the right game to do it. Some of us fans knew this was a long shot, but as soon as the lineup was released, I knew we were cooked. It's also laughable that people think Bellingham and Valverde are good defensively just because they run around a lot and go into a lot of challenges. Also, how many times has the best mid in the world Valverde got his ass handed to him this season alone 🤔

This team does not work with 3 attackers specially when they’re all lazy and provide zero in defense. They lose more balls than anyone else yet they pressure the least.

Vini needs to accept the secondary or playmaking role. This whole I want to do everything by myself shit had led him back to being the player from the pandemic era.

Another technical cb needs to come, we have two defenders that are mistake prone because of how awful they are with the ball in their feet and rely only on their aggressiveness to win balls.

The lack of commitment from several players in the team has been a constant thing for years. they know that they won’t be dropped from the starting line up because of their price tags.

we lost on pens, PSG are not the better team, they wouldn't want to play LFC again trust me

:Liverpool:

no. 1 and no. 2 teams in the world atm for sure, PSG is more in form imo so i’d rank them first but next season LFC with the new signings will be exciting to watch

I mean, it wasn't as close as people treat is as being. Alisson bailed Liverpool hard.

A terrible final awaits me. But I kinda like Chelsea so here’s hoping they win it. I hated how P$G and City won their UCLs…

Why, Inter? WHY?!?!?!

We can not compete with that level of oil

Your UCL losses pained me dearly. Just a huge and magnificent club doesn’t deserve such losses

They deserved it I can’t be mad at them for being well off but yea the score line and the way our team played was unacceptable

I kinda like Chelsea. Liked their crest since the early 2000s so yeah. I am biased there

So your football moral compass stops at a kinda cool crest. A true expert.

They're exactly the same as PSG and City lol

Rarely see as much criticism anymore towards Chelsea as towards City or PSG. In 10-20 years we'll forget these teams stay at the top, they're just gonna be normal big teams. Kind of the story for most big teams.

This also means every time someone starts a “La Liga is the best league” debate all I need to do is remind them which countries the 2 CWC finalists are from

The best and most in form La Liga team wasn’t at the tournament.
