I mean, the killer has to be Negan, right? An iconic character with an iconic melee weapon to hit the survivors. Surely it can’t be a random zombie, considering they’re the slow zombies who can’t realistically catch up with anyone.

It's already been stated in the roadmap that the next DLC after FNAF would be two Survivors only, sadly.
It's just Rick and Michonne. If they had a killer, Beta or the Governor would be a better fit.

They usually prefer adding male/female duos like Jill and Leon, steve and nancy, thalita and renato the only exception is Rebecca and Ada i guess who are both Female with a male killer
I assume we'll get Negan as a survivor skin at some point. I just can't see him being a killer. He's just a guy with a bat, and he doesn't kill innocent people for no reason. Beta and the Governor are just people but they both have murderous/sociopathic tendencies and I can see either of them going on big killing sprees.
Lore wise a lot of the DBD killers are kinda alright people, the Entity just manipulated their lives.
Negan wouldn't fit as killer whatsoever given the direction of the show, and additionally doesn't have compelling elements to make into a killer in the game. He used his charisma and charm to control and conquer, and used strategy and fear as a power, but this cannot translate into the game. He'd just be a guy with a bat.
Who WOULD have made a fantastic killer would have been BETA, who the Entity could have made his delusions into reality by making him ACTUALLY able to communicate and give directions to Walkers. He's physically strong as well, which could have translated well into extra powers for him.
Regardless, we are getting no killer.

Even though it's not a killer, the only one I could imagine being the killer would be Beta.
I really hope if there is a killer that it’s Beta. He’s the best option since he fits the slasher horror trope, and there is a decent bit they can do with him with his Whisperer skills, and zombies.
Though if there is a killer it’s probably going to unfortunately be Negan who fits no horror trope at all but only because he’s popular which makes no sense. I’ve heard it’ll probably be Survivor only though.
But I’m still excited, Dead by Daylight is a good game.

Well that’s a little unfortunate.
Hopefully they do another crossover down the road similarly to how Fortnite has done three TWD crossovers, and COD MW3 did two in the same game’s lifecycle. Pretty sure Dead by Daylight has done multiple Resident Evil crossovers so the precedent is already there.
If anything, they will probably just have cosmetic skins for the two survivors they are introducing. It's likely to be Rick and Michonne and it wouldn't surprise me to see legendary skins for sale that are other popular characters like Daryl, Carol, and Negan.
That's the way they'd probably go so they can just have skins that cost more without having to make up new perks.

I'd love a Beth legendary but that won't ever happen.

VALVE insists that all of their characters be available for free so the only L4D Rep is Bill with cosmetics for Survivors.

Springtrap was just added without a survivor. They love doing half-chapters, unfortunately.
Tbf both of these make sense. TWD doesn't really have a single big monster they could use (afaik, haven't watched the full series yet), while FNAF doesn't have a clear survivor character (most of the protagonists are faceless, and the one we know the most about is a child which is a no-no for the devs).
So it does make sense that both chapters are only 50% full.
Beta and Lydia as the killer and survivor. Beta gets some walkers to control, idk. Beta and Negan as survivor could work too.

The game does these sorta intermittent chapters that are either only 1 survivor or 1 killer or in this case 2 survivors
The problem is that Negan, The Governor, and Whisperers are threatening because they have a cult of personality.
Individually none of them are that threatening and they all have grander ambitions than hunting people for sport.
Kaneki’s a killer and he doesn’t hunt for sport
He’s a carnivore so he hunts to satiate his ghoulish hunger.
The Governor and Negan are tyrants and the Whisperers want end all of human life.
Kaneki doesn’t eat humans, he’s a ghoul cannibal.
The devs of DBD stated Kaneki in the game isn't the same Kaneki from the anime/manga but a corrupted version instead.

While you could do the same for Walking Dead, the villains of that franchise aren't really known for their "powers" so tbh I don't mind them not having a killer. It wouldn't be impossible but it doesn't fit well with how the game is.
Completely agree. The ONE candidate I think could have made a very compelling Killer could have been Beta, as the Entity could have made his delusions into reality and allow him to actually communicate with Walkers.
From the survivor perspective he'd be talkin to the Walkers and they wouldn't respond, but for Beta they would actually verbally respond, AND would listen to given commands.
Beyond having this ability, which would of course mean having Walkers present in the map, Beta is also physically intimidating, and this would play a vital role in his kit as well. Beta is shown to be able to lift and throw people, smash through walls, ect, and this would certainly have played into his theoretical kit as well.
I think Beta had the opportunity to be an immensely compelling addition to the game, and an extremely unique inclusion. He's rather terrifying and really stands out, I think it's a real shame the Devs didn't see the potential that I do!
I think no other antagonist would have been a good fit, they don't bring anything to the table that would serve as good material for a Killer within the game.
There's always a chance for a TWD killer later on. And by later on I mean 2026+.
They rarely do follow-up chapters, though (and by rarely, I mean "happened literally a single time with Resident Evil")
