Really wish my man didnt go all fuckn feral like that…
I demand a comic book or novel where a different course of events is taken, where shane lives with the whole group and see how his mad ass will handle the apocalypse and evil groups like woodbury and the saviours
Still waiting for a walking dead what if
i think we had that chance with destinies, and you know how that went
I bought it on release what a horrible game
I saw it on x-box game store yesterday... no way i am paying that much money on a game that looks like it was relised 20 years ago
A what if animated series in the comic book art style with the cast returning to voice, except the ones who have passed irl RIP. Would be phenomenal and incorporating Daryl in the comic book art style would be cool AF too
They wouldn't be able to cast the original actors, it would be extremely expensive
Kirkman has the money, he’s made tons and tons from invincible and the shows he’s still producing
What the fans need 🙏
What if they um 😏
Jon Bernthal is a fucking juggernaut of an actor. Every role he’s in he gives 110% and fucking SENDS it. He’s also got this very specific and unique brand of captivating charisma that snares you in every time
Jon Bernthal as Mikey Berzatto in The Bear was spectacular, even if he didn't have too much screen time
I still can't believe I saw Shane throw forks at Saul Goodman.
Trueee, Bob Odenkirk played a great annoying uncle too
He reminds me of so many annoying family members throughout the years.
He stole every scene he was in.
your comment is how Jon Bernthal acts
I’ll take that as a compliment!
I admire your work here.
Even in the somewhat dumpster fire of Ghost Recon Breakpoint
I think this relationship really drives down the inhumane, harrowing, nature of the apocalypse and exactly what it will do to people beyond eating them alive.
Other than Sofia, maybe early days you could say Aimee, but we weren’t as attached to those two. Sofia was terrible because of what she was, not who she was to the audience. Leaving Jim by the tree as there was nothing to be done, this really drives home the dire choices that need to be made. Dale whilst sad, was old and the level of connection we feel between the characters as an audience not quite there yet.
In my mind Shane serves as the first big loss, and true example of how the apocalypse can turn an otherwise principled and heroic man, bad. Rick has to kill his partner and life long best friend, then the cozy farm vibe is ended abruptly, it really drives the horrific nature of what they are going through home.
Absolutely- It drove home that nowhere is safe anymore, not even out in the sticks nor in your own family ties.
Exactly no where is safe, not even your life long friendship and partner you’d been in literal shoot outs beside in the old world. Really creates that feeling.
ALSO WHY the little family crew they create later is so goddamn vital and hits home for viewers and why it’s so devastating to lose one.
one of the best and most impressive things about the first episode of the 1st series is that in very little time, you feel how strong the relationship is between these 2. Excellent writing and acting
Shane was a very good friend in this moment. He was there for Rick in any way he needed.

Bro said i don’t see him lasting long and then says he would have made it to either the CW or Negan.
He barely made it past the CDC.
In the comics, he doesn't make it out of the first camp.
The lineup is a bit over a year and a half into the Apocalypse iirc. That's compared to the 13 years that passes between season 1 episode 1 and where we currently are in TOWL.
For us, the lineup is just a bit past halfway through the story in the main show. For the people currently in the show, however, it's only like 15% of the way through.
For another perspective, season 1 to season 8 accounts for about the same amount of time as season 8 to season 9.
He was falling apart at the farm, no way could he have handled the Governor. No way.
yo shane would’ve gone crazy at Terminus
I almost wish they had just one more season together to flesh out more of their story.
There wasn’t a need to. This is something the later seasons suffered from horrifically. They dragged everything out.
I’m sure you can find fanfic that fits to your needs! Google it lol
It's weird that they added that dynamic on the show because it doesn't exist in the comics
In general i wish to see Jon Bernthal in a role that he doesn't die in
I wish Shane were present at least until season 6 😭
true but I also wonder if we would've gotten season 5 ferral Rick had Shane still been around
You know that character trope when two girlds get fucked over by a piece of shit and then they both break up with him and end together? Yeah... That would've been interesting here
For example if Shane had survived up until Negan it would've have a bigger impact as well for Rick's motivation to kill him
God, does anyone know of any what if novels of some style like this?
It’s been a long time since I watched TWD but from what I remember I feel like Shane and Rick’s friendship wasn’t really fleshed out if that is the word. i feel like I didn’t get enough to see that they were such great friends. I feel like their relatinship should have been more fleshed out like I don’t know more flasbacks and/or baxkstory. If they were gonna kill of Shane so early as they did and have him completely downfall so early as they did then they should have made season 1 and 2 longer and made it a slow burn downfall. But again that’s just me and my thoughts and I haven’t watched the show in a long time.
i love TWD but wctually many things were not fleshed out.
And all gone over one of the worst women ever…
You could probably find the type of change you're looking for on Archive Of Our Own.
There's a fantastic "What If" story where Carl is separated from Lori and Rick from the beginning of the outbreak, only to reunite with the group as a junior Savior during the execution circle scene. It slowly shows other Butterfly effects, Sophia is alive, Shane's alive, etc.

Holy crap. I think I have to read that one.
I wanted SO BADLY for them to get along. SO, SO badly. How could Shane even consider killing his friend like that? If he'd just waited a little longer, he would've found another woman to love...
What scene is this pic from? Was it per-apocalypse?
No, right after carl was shot if im not mistaken
Yeah, this is while Hershel is first examining Carl
I wish they'd done Shane's death the way Joe wanted.
Shane wanting to make Rick kill him then he gets shot and Rick learns Shane's gun was empty. Shane was never gonna murder him but he had completely lost it and wanted to die at the hands of his best friend.
I think that would have been beautiful and given Shane some redemption in death. Just a broken man who in the end wanted to go out on his terms whlist pushing his friend to make the hardest choices.
That would be great
Dude already had a "I'm gonna kill him" moment in episode 4 or 5 if I remember right
i cried what really happened to them
In the comicsshane dies early and its because he had a mental break down i think i dont remeber
Sometimes i forget when rick lead the group to CCM and find everyone was dead and the doors closed, daryl yell against him and shane he stepped up and defended him and said to daryl to shut up.
A pair of flat tts broke that
this is genuinely my favorite interaction between these two. carl goes down, all the petty shit went away and for a second they just went back to being brothers
first and last time we truly see that :(
It's not. What about the scene of Shane and Rick in the hospital during the outbreak? It's peak
Yea but that happens before this scene
The person before said this was the first and last time we saw them like this, not just the last
I think they meant currently not flashbacks
