I used to be a massive fan of The Walking Dead, I was watching whilst Season 2 was airing. However after the disappointing Season 8, overall decline in the show and with Andrew Lincoln announcing he was going to be leaving the show I completely stopped watching, didn't even bother with season 9 for me the show was Rick Grimes. I watched recaps of season 9 onwards to just get an idea of what happened.
I just finished TOWL and whilst the show definitely has problems, mainly just too many convenient things happening, I really enjoyed it. It was really nice stepping back into this universe, that I had no intention of stepping back into, and basically seeing what I see as a fitting end to the entire series.
Also just a side note, it is crazy how much better the production is in this spin-off. It felt more like a HBO show than AMC.

I finished season 11 of TWD last week for first time. Jumped straight into Daryl Dixon. Binge watched both seasons, absolutely LOVE it. He's become a right action hero. I can't wait for season 3.
I've just started TOWL and mehhhhh
Oh really? Is it worth checking out? I felt pretty comfortable jumping into TOWL without finishing the show cos I stopped watching when Rick left, so it was a natural progression for me.
I’m on a re watch of the original series, going to try to get through dead city, the ones who live, and Daryl’s show. Don’t have much hope but we’ll see. Might try again to get into fear the walking dead. Tried a few times already and just couldn’t.
I’m at season 8 and it’s kinda just background noise now
I’m on S8 rewatch as well!!! Just got through the first 4 episodes and thinking this is SOOOO stupid.
The Saviors basically let them win. Only one person guarding outposts or whatever. Negan did no planning. When the Saviors were first introduced, they were able to surround their enemies like professionally trained Ninjas. Why didn’t Negan set up better patrol around the surrounding area of the Sanctuary? He KNEW they would come at them. Too many unrealistic battle scenes and I’m still not buying Maggie as this great leader at this point. The scenes showing her in battle as a strong leader is her yelling out one word instructions: Now! Go!
And I’m still pissed that Sasha decided to kill herself over a dude she was involved with not even a month. And, Shiva getting killed the way she did was also just stupid as they all stood there and watched.
And, this was the start of the destruction of Morgan’s character. They really destroyed that character on so many levels here and in FTWD. I don’t know how Lennie showed up for work. He was probably one of the top 3 male actors on the show and they gave him crap to work with. Consistently.
I was a comic reader, I was so disappointed with all out war
bro, i felt like it was so rushed and not written w nuance. i lean i enjoyed it immensely bc i've been waiting for those two to reunite FOREVER, but like,,,, that's how they ended rick's arc? really?
Yeah I get all that. I guess for me I was completely checked out of the franchise so it was nice jumping in and seeing a conclusion.
facts, i feel the same way. at the end of the day, rick is finally home 🥰🙏
Yeah, if I rewatched the show now I’d only watch up to S9.5 of TWD and finish with TOWL.
They ruined the main show with how they handled Rick and Carl.
