The music just reminds me of my Walking Dead Destinies playthrough now, which was… yeah..

The What If scenarios were cool ideas... But I swear, the Gameplay was SO BAD, I keep telling my older Cousin that it's bad and he's like "No, no it's not" even though HE'S NEVER PLAYED IT, and all he's heard are people talking about how bad the game is. Some people will believe any game is good just because there's A good Idea in it.

I was always going to pick up it, just not for full price.

I’ll buy Mindseye went it’s £10 too, lol.

Cool concept, just a shitty execution. I did get some joy out of it being a Walking Dead fan.

Yeah, it's still a cool concept, but sadly that applies to MANY bad games...

Yeah the idea was so good and it had me hyped. But it looked like the devs had no budget at all. It played like a game from 2005. Wish a bigger dev team would just take the idea and make it better.

Also the $50 price tag for the base game is what really put the nail in the coffin. Ig they thought bc it was TWD it would sale no matter what. The price was way to high for what the game actually is. Its barely worth $20-$30 at the MOST. And it rarely goes on sale too

I mean, it was made by GameMill, games made by then are basically DESTINED(pun intended) to have horrible gameplay, though I am surprised they went through the effort of actually changing the Models of the game as it progressed, even actually legit good games by good studios don't do that often. Man, what does a person have to do to get a Good TWD game that isn't made by Telltale...? Let alone a good one in the Show Continuity... Guess the closest we'll get is DBD and other games where the characters are Cameos.

Yeah we kind of just have to role play in other zombie games pretending like it’s TWD😂 but it’s not the same😔.

I pretend like I’m Daryl sometimes in Days Gone😂

Sometimes I just pretend Minecraft is a TWD game, turn off Mob Spawning, and just flood the entire map with a bunch of Husks... I should probably get Days Gone someday, it sounds pretty good.

Various-Push-1689

Minecraft is a little too unrealistic looking for me to be able to pretend in it😂. But yeah Days Gone is great. Also State of Decay 2 is a really good zombie game. If we can’t get a good TWD game with the Destinies idea then I at least want a game with the gameplay and style of State of Decay. I can’t wait for the 3rd one. Hopefully it’s still being made after all the Microsoft firing bs

Yeah, I won't lie, I don't even get far with the Minecraft one, I just kinda try and think of a way to make it work, And usually quit by the time I can't. I don't know much about State of Decay, but I agree, Microsoft is looking BAD now. They seriously can't go a month straight without looking good.

Saints and Sinners. Unfortunately, that's a VR only game.

Overkill's The Walking Dead sounded neat. 4 player co op? Sign me up! Turns out it was just Left 4 Dead.

Bro the idea they had for that game was amazing. I was so hyped hearing about it. But they did it so poorly and the gameplay felt like a game from 2005. I wish another company took that idea and made an actual good game. It seems that AMC just gives the TWD IP to literally anyone. There are so many games out there labeled “The Walking Dead (insert title name)” but 90% of them suck

I swear if Destinies was done by someone else who actually had a budget that game could’ve been great

BlackBalor

Agreed.

I still want my Days Gone Daryl Dixon game, lol.

Ok but did y'all see Rick's in-game model LMAO

He's fine but... could definitely use more work.

Anyway nice, I was curious to see how much actual crossover there is with TWD fanbase and with DBD. I finished the main show earlier this year (started early last year LOL) and was floored how this crossover didn't happen yet. I figured it was because the show had hit its peak already like a decade ago but better late then never.

I'm genuinely so psyched to sit through toxic gameplay loop but now as Rick Grimes.

This collab & the community crying for comic/telltale characters is quite literally the opposite of how Fortnite's community reacted when the comic Negan skin dropped. like lmao, NOW yall care about comic universe after shunning it?

you can't satisfy gamers for shit LOL, I'd hate to be a dev.

I'm just as surprised too, didn't realize the Telltale side of the fanbase was such a united front.

this sub, r/theroamingdead & r/TheWalkingDeadGame are all the same sub in different flavors. I'm not kidding, only difference is this sub is technically the only one still getting brand new content (if you don't count the comic fans getting TWD Deluxe).

Tbh, I’m ok with not getting the comics/Telltale characters for one reason:

Clementine would probably be a Survivor and I would refuse to kill her.

IDK what happened with Fortnite, but I would sell my soul to Satan and let him do weird things to me if that means we get the Telltale characters in DBD

I get the want for Telltale characters (saying Telltale specifically as while the comic obviously differs it wouldn’t be as vastly different (Telltale is in the same canon though)), and it would be cool in the future for legendary skins given the collab was licensed for the general franchise as a whole, but I’m actually shocked people seriously were hyping themselves up for Telltale when literally all of the information we had prior to the direct trailer released directly pointed to the collab being based on the show’s continuity. Like the main thing we knew was that Rick and Michonne were the survivors, the ‘Don’t Open, Dead Inside’ door was the visual we were given prior. If it was Telltale they would’ve specified and there would be more obvious hints pointing toward it.

I think there is missed opportunity here with what we have right now (like apparently there being no map, and I could see The Governor or Negan working as a killer in the possible future), but hopefully they’ll add some new stuff along the way. If this collab was the general Walking Dead franchise I’d understand it more, and that isn’t to say I don’t get why Telltale and Comic fans are a little bummed out, but if you knew TWD was coming you’d know it was the show universe specifically. Like come on

:RickGrimes:

Some people just don't know how these collabs work,

Some people do know, & just genuinely think all TWD entities are owned by the same people.

Some people just had wishful thinking

Some just want to complain.

I personally prefer the comic universe over the show too, & love telltale. I'd like to see telltale characters in DBD & agree that it'd be just as cool if not better than the show collab.

But many telltale fans also don't realize that these teams are out for money. Between the first Fortnite collab, the Call of Duty collab, Brawlhalla collab, & now this? It's obvious that it's not a matter of who'll give their license up; both Kirkman/Skybound & AMC are more than willing. it's just clearly much easier for these dev teams to just go to AMC for Rick & Michonne (maybe Daryl and/or Carol) for easier money & all of a day.

Just a lot to unpack there when it comes to any sort of TWD collab LOL

New_Practice9754

I understand it entirely, because rightfully so the show, comic, and game each have their own fanbases and their own things to offer and each would be cool to see in the game. In a world where licensing worked that way and we could just have The Walking Dead franchise that would open a lot of doors, but shit doesn’t work that way unfortunately. And I get it even more for Telltale fans because they haven’t had content for a long, long while. But it’s like, some should know that unless there’s direct reason to believe it’ll be Telltale, it most likely won’t.

I personally just got into this stuff, my parents watched the show but didn’t even know the comics existed despite being pretty consistent solid fans of the show for a while. I knew all three existed but even when I was heavy into zombie media I purposely avoided TWD until now. I know the show has its issues, but I’m still enjoying it and hopefully when I get some more time and money I can invest in the comics and games as their own things. As I said, each would have a lot to genuinely be excited for in DBD. But money talks, and obviously AMC would get the collab at least first.

Which honestly speaking, beyond me just liking the show I’m kind of glad. While this doesn’t count anymore than it does the Fortnite collab and other examples listed, in terms of games or at least game models, the show just doesn’t really have anything? We have fucking Destinies as the most recent example, which is laughably bad. I’m glad to see the characters with solid model work in a horror survival game.

not adding negan as a killer is such an absurd missed opportunity

EllieW-

They already have a human killer with a baseball bat so I guess that's why

WhiteNoiseLife

ohhh i didn’t know that, i haven’t played a ton of dbd

negan skin maybe?

EllieW-

I could be completely wrong but that is my guess that they just didn't want it to be too similar

Moon_Beans1

To be fair if I was gonna choose any baddie to fit the DBD killer tropes it'd probably be Beta. He was already the closest TWD had to just straight up having a slasher villain in the franchise.

thosehalcyonnights

Ok, because I’m a billion years old and made of dust, can someone confirm - is there like some sort of alien element to this? I read the promo notes that were released and it made it seem like Rick got abducted or something, and in the closing scene of the trailer there’s something coming out of the sky

traxonova

It's the Entity, the overarching character in the game's lore that's pretty much the devs excuse as to why everyone in DBD is in the game's realm. It's convenient, but it works.

thosehalcyonnights

God bless you. I was about to start reading the entire Wikipedia page to figure it out lmao.

Euro-Lawyer

The Entity is an extra dimensional being in DBD lore that feeds on emotions. It abducts both killers and survivors to partake in trials so that it can feed off the intense emotions that come from endless death matches. In Lore it can reach into pretty much any dimension and pull people out, which is why you have Rick Grimes, Lara Croft and Ellen Ripley running from Freddy Krueger and Dracula.

Yayyyyy, I wish negan was killer

Im excited to play them and hopefully more characters get added. I can see them making a Negan skin similar to the way The Trickster is.

Pretend-Ad-6453

Is there a new killer?

JuanPedia

No killer. The hospital corridor with the “Don’t dead, open inside” doors and a prison tower can spawn on some maps, though.

So Daryl confirmed (probably as a skin for Rick ?) since he is in the trailer ?

Nice

Edit: my bad it's literally written in the video

Man this makes me want a Walking Dead game so bad. Like one that goes off the show kinda like TWD Destinies. But made by a better company. Bc that was game so bad but the idea of it was amazing

Oh no. Oh no please. Isn't that game where You need to repair an engine and do stupid thngs while a monster is following You? Why the heck should be compatible with TWD? I'm still waitinf for a proper TWD game, and what I think it's the best match is with Dying Light.

What? As of the last 6 months it’s been growing, they literally doubled the average player numbers on steam since January. In fact they have the highest player numbers they’ve had since they released the game in June 2016.

There wouldn't be collabs and active playerbase if it was a dieing game though

Valuable-Garbage

What are you on about It has been one of if not the most consistently popular horror games for almost a decade now?

BarracudaClear3880

Thanks to collabs, because the game itself is boring as hell and has the most disgusting gaming community. the survivors always insult the killer when the matches are over and right at the beginning, the flashlight blinding was instant. It only got nerfed after one of the devs played a killer match and got badly bullied by a sweat squad
