Spinoff Ideas

Hey, so i thought about what other spin-offs would be interesting. I have a couple in mind: 1. A 12 -Episode Miniseries which shows us how the Virus was created / the Origin of it all. The biggest, unresolved mistery of the franchise 2. A 6-Episode Miniseries about how some Governments have held up in the early days and how they fell 3. Similar to number 2, the fall of the military was never shown in great detail. I think that would be interesting in a small frame 4. A Multi-Season Spinoff that shows us about other countries/regions of the world. Just like Daryl with france, this show would take place in Countries like Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Brazil, Germany or Egypt. With each country getting like 4-6 Episodes designated to it (or even more but i doubt that it would be successful) 5. A horror film series in the style of the first seasons and the 6th Episode of TOTWD. I love horror but the main show has gone more and more away from the original horrortheme. I'd love to see a comeback to the origins.

I unironically want a sitcom set in TWDU.

It could be Princess, Mercer, Ezekiel, Eugene, and Max just living their lives in the relatively safe commonwealth

Ross Marquand has said that AMC is trying to do a spin-off with Aaron, Gabriel, Eugene, and Jerry - sounds absolutely like a comedy.

I genuinely laughed at the idea lol. It could be fun as a one one special episode.

Oh my god, a walking dead Christmas special at the Commonwealth??

I would pay a great deal to see a TWD holiday special. Especially witn Princess and Mercer. Mercer, struggling desperately to assemble a foraged Barbie DreamHouse at 3 am

The biggest mistake the Daryl Dixon show ever did was not explore this more considering they were in the fucking ground zero of the virus (France). They clearly alluded to it but never got down into it.

A 6-Episode Miniseries about how some Governments have held up in the early days and how they fell

I think it's safe to say TWD will never do an outbreak show, which pisses me off. I feel like that could be very easy to do. And the first season of FTWD was unmatched.

Considering what Daryl Dixon accomplishes, I doubt we will have a show like this.

I still don't know what to make of that last episode of Tales. It was different. If they were to ever do a horror-themed series, it should be more like 11x06 with Connie in the house with the ferals.

For me - the spin-offs I would like to see:

  1. Next-generation spin-off that adapts the final issues of TWD with Rick and moves on to his kids (who are grown-up in the year 2040). This would also serve as a follow-up to World Beyond and TOWL. Essentially, the remaining loyalists of the CRM have returned, led by Beale's son Mason. He leads a coup against the Civic Republic and the Commonwealth, resulting in Rick's death. Judith, RJ, Gracie, Hershel, Ezra, Coco, and Rosie go after Mason.
  2. An adaptation of the TWDG with Clementine. Season 1 could be primarily about the outbreak, like in FTWD. Season 2 would be the remainder of the first game. Season 3 would be the second game. Season 4 would be the third game. Season 5 would be the fourth game. Potentially could go beyond that with the Clementine books (though I am not a fan). We could incorporate Michonne and her family and T-Dog in Season 1 instead of Hershel's family and Glenn, and Jesus or Aaron in Season 4.
  3. There's apparently talks of a comedy series (according to Ross Marquand) with Aaron, Gabriel, Eugene, and Jerry. I would 100% be down for that, especially since I'm biased towards Aaron being my favorite character and his duo with Gabriel is unmatched.
  4. A continuation of Tales. But they REALLY need to focus more on established characters or at least within the universe.

Honestly Daryl Dixon was doomed by Malissa McBride. The show was very clearly being set up to explore more about the virus. If Carol was in the show from the very beginning like they had planned they wouldn’t have had to completely throw away all the France plotline to fit her in.

  1. I thought there will be a "more tales of the walking dead" that could come as soon as next year. I just finished tales today, i think it's an interesting concept and would love to see more

1 is the thing I want the least. Nothing can explain it well enough/be cool enough compared to imagination. Leave it a mystery.

Edited out the hashtag, I somehow never learned until now that just makes it bold.

no id love to see an origin story. I can use my imagination all I want, aliens, government, whatever but an actual good thought out story with an actual good explanation would be far better.

now they have completely strayed away from the comics, there’s no reason not to tell these bigger stories that everyone wants.

We just need an animated what-if spinoff

E1: Jerry, a calorie obsessed health nut, lives alone with a treadmill because he never chatted Nabila up after trying her cobbler

I wish Carl lived in the show. I would’ve loved to see Carl live a boring farm life, pretty much walker free.

An episode about the "massacre" near an amusement park which we saw the aftermath of when Michonne and Rick were looking for guns for that group in the waste disposal

How about TWD:The end? Just let it reach its natural end.. Stop milking it.

Of course they should let the main plot finish. Stop dead city and daryl dixon and finish it

I'd love to see a mini-series of Dwight and Sherry, following them after the ending of Fear S8, since they're the least likely of the Fear cast to end up going with Morgan to Alexandria. Maybe they continue on and end up in Florida. How cool would it be to see an apocalyptic Disney World? (Disney would never allow that to happen, but it's cool to think about, lol.)

FTWD except season 4 picks up after the end of season 3 and continues from there.

FTWD season 3 is one of the best seasons of a walking dead show

I fucking wish. I keep saying it, Season 3 of FTWD is still one of the top pieces of TWD content, including comics, main show and games. It's up there with All Out War in the comics, Season 5 of the main show and Season 1 of the Telltale game for me. It was so fucking good and I'm still mad they basically ditched all of that to turn it into The Morgan Show.
