Old school friend of mine had a nervous laugh, French singer I like is always pushing her hair back over her ears (she's 40 now and she's been doing it since she was 16), Harrison Ford points all the time, Robert De Niro squares his jaw, Ella Purnell waves her hands when she talks like a puppet, Irish comedian Dara O Briain has the verbal tic 'Erm'; it goes on.

I have an annoying habit of answering Yes or No questions with 'Er, yes.' and 'Er, no.' Doesn't matter if I've been saying Yes to the same question for thirty years, I still say 'Er, yes.' Drives me crazy, I'm aware I do it, but I can't stop myself doing it.

I have a buzz cut and this is just something we do
